Wait a minute. You are putting words in my mouth. I didn't say or imply anywhere that twittering is "of dubious moral value". I just said that the few little pieces of quality that are surely present in the twitter community are drowned out by all the nonsense and mostly useless retweeting.
Just like there are few littles pieces of quality in forum posts one could add. I hope you are consistent enough to support the statement that there is 'nothing that is THAT important' that it would require a forum post and could not be uttered in an article or an e-mail'.

now it makes sense why they are using itun.es short domain, so with this they can integrate with tweeter better.

Forum posts are not restricted to 140 characters. Your comparison is flawed.

Unfortunately but I agree 100%. Never understood Twitter and still trying to understand Ping...

Have you ever used Twitter? I receive Breaking news, sports, weather, school closings, traffic ...etc. tweets all in one location. I don't tweet but getting all of that information as soon as it happens can't be beat.

I follow MacRumors, ZDNet and other tech sites and get the latest info without having to go to the website. They always provide links that take you right to the article.

I agree with you on Ping. It needs to be accesible through third-party apps and a browser.

I agree with you but while sharing information the 140 chahracters limit is something I can't digest.
