If you an iOS developer, please don't use splash screens for marketing, show an empty UI.

Agreed. FaceBook started this nonsense in all their apps a few months ago, never thought others would follow such a terrible idea.

Right? I care not for the splash screen - I'd rather the launch splash screen time be reduced by 1/3 so I don't need to stare at it in the first place.

Better yet, I'd like there developers to spend more time on give us more option than a 'heart' to like. Why no 'love, sad, laugh, or broken heart' ? Seems odd the use a Heart icon on a very VERY sad posting - actually it's asinine.

It used to be a star, which made much more sense. Either way, I'm not sure I like the idea of multiple reaction icons in Twitter, since the point is the quick acknowledgement. It's probably the way of the future, though, since online services always get more complex over time, until something simpler comes along to take their place.

They need an editing tool already.
This is what happens when they add a tweet editing tool:
  1. Someone tweets “Like/retweet if you love puppies”.
  2. They get 50,000 likes/retweets.
  3. They edit the tweet to say “like/retweet if you love Hitler and child porn”.
  4. People everywhere get enraged that celebrity X or politician Y loves Hitler and child porn (whether their outrage is real, or manufactured, varies).
  5. Rinse/repeat thousands of times a week.
The most common counter argument is “well, only allow editing right away, or remove likes/retweets if the original is edited”. In both of these cases, you could just as easily copy the text of the tweet, delete the original, paste the copied text into a new tweet, and edit as needed before hitting Send. The tweet is going to lose all likes, retweets, and its place in the hierarchy of replies. And that’s necessary, in order to avoid rampant abuse.

You’re never going to get a tweet editing tool, unless it simply automates the “delete and make a new one” cycle mention in the previous paragraph.

Why is this such a big deal? Social media is toxic. Stay off of it and delete the apps... your health will immediately improve.

Last week: major security breach scandal that potentially involves their employees.

This week: still haven't figured out who yet, but lets reveal customizable app icons :D

Yup, seems legit. lol
