Same here, with Tweetbot. Although a few time it just fails to refresh or errors out giving me this error

Tweetbot iOS is working for me again.

EDIT: although it won’t let me swipe between all my lists like it used to. But it will load the lists one at a time if I manually select them from my profile.

Some users are reporting that they can’t post tweets from Tweetbot (but can still view their timeline). Seems to work fine for me.

And Tweetbot is dead again.

Yep... same here.

I'm using https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/ in Fluid Browser setup as TweetDeck.app along with a Userscript I found (copy below) to widen the columns, and it looks and functions pretty much like Tweetbot. So a good replacement for me.

Code:
(function() {
    'use strict';

    let colStyle = document.createElement('style');
    colStyle.innerText = '.column{width:470px !important;}';
    document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(colStyle);

})();

Credit for the Userscript.

Code:
// ==UserScript==
// @name         tweetdeck wider column
// @namespace    https://github.com/jubyshu
// @version      0.0.1
// @icon         https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/favicon.ico
// @description Make tweetdeck column wider
// @author       jubyshu
// @match        https://tweetdeck.twitter.com/*
// @grant        none
// ==/UserScript==

Weird how some apps seem to work briefly and then stop while others don't work at all. I'm having no issues using Twitterrific on macOS, but it doesn't work on iOS or iPadOS. Fenix works on my iPhone, but not my iPad or on macOS. And then Tweetbot's not working at all.

Also, I have a few Twitter accounts and in Safari on my Mac, I'm signed in with an account I don't use often, and I'm unable to sign out (!) to then sign in with my other account. The page just refreshes when I try.. This whole thing is bananas.

On some level, I can understand why Twitter is doing this (making their algorithmic feed the default, plus nuking third party apps). The latter earn Twitter no revenue, and I am surprised they have been allowed to exist till this day (Youtube was a lot more decisive in killing off the Protube app within months of its release). It's still a crummy way of going about it though. Absolutely zero comms and leaving it to developers and users to wonder about the state of their app, both present and current.

For example, I am fairly certain that many of Tweetbot's users will have their subscription up for renewal in the coming weeks (Mine's due on Feb 7). If the app is indeed dead in the water, at least let us know so we can either terminate the sub, or the dev can remove his app from the App Store to prevent users from unknowingly signing up for a dead app. It's just a few bucks, and I am willing to let it through just to support the dev that bit more, but still, some clarification on the matter sure would be appreciated. Just to put all this ambiguity and uncertainty to rest once and for all.

Weird but expected change.

I got to this thread late but it's kind of funny/sad how the start of it is lots of people saying "pfft just use third party apps!" and then descends into "oh no they broke the api / the apps aren't working anymore" - they've purposely targeted the most used apps. All of the major app developers have completely lost trust in Twitter (understandably) and are in different degrees of adopting ActivityPub projects for their future work. Power users and platform evangelists often used these apps.. Twitterific and Tweetbot in particular played a significant part in Twitter gaining traction in the first place. A very weird move. (I can see why they want people to use the 1st party app for advertising/twitter blue purposes.. In which case they could at least make the ad serving part of the api, not just napalm the most popular apps without so much as communicating with the devs. I saw the writing on the wall as soon as he was doing the whole "nobody knows why we set it up so the tweets mention what app they're posted from" lying shtick.

I'm not using the first party UI'd twitter as my main social platform, it's really incompatible with ADHD/various behaviour patterns - intentionally so.. The 3rd party apps often solved a lot of these issues.. Oh well.

All the third party apps are likely to be broken soon, if not - all of the ones with any significant amount of use.

At least AppleInsider did a post about it. I'm now rather confident MR won't do anything to offend Elon. Just my opinion.
This is very odd to me, too.. I just searched "twitter" to see all articles on MR, and not one single article on this. I follow @danbarbera on Twitter, too, and hasn't seen him post anything about this, either.

Most tech folks get their tech news from a large number of sites, maybe even an RSS feed of a number of sites. I think the moment has passed, though, for this. Everyone, including the App Devs, have moved on.

Only really wondering why this has been pretty major news everywhere accept the one site I enjoy the most (that being MR).

You could ask this in the SFF forum and the editors will see it and answer you.

On iOS, saving the the "Following" Twitter page in Safari as a home screen bookmark creates a very serviceable app. So far, I haven't seen any ads on the "For You," "Following," or "Lists" pages (I have seen some when drilling down into threads). It's not as good as Tweetbot, but it's far better than just using the page in Safari. It's a serviceable workaround while waiting for Twitter to re-enable Tweetboy and other 3rd party apps.

Similarly, if you follow a lot of lists, set them up as columns in Tweetdeck and save that as a Home Screen book mark.

I've also found that using this App Extension makes this experience even better. The only thing it's truly missing for me is a way to sync the timeline across devices.
(Bonus: this works on Apple Silicon Macs, too)

The other benefit of this approach is that it gives you access to the "schedule tweet" feature that's available on the main web app (and TweetDeck) but inexplicably not available in the iOS app.

A good option for macOS seems to be Tweeten — it looks like Tweetdeck, but is so much more customizable, seems to be donationware, and has variable width columns. It is working very well, no API issues here.
