Two iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air Colors Appear to Scratch More Easily

Can you tell if they are actual scratches (indentations in the ceramic) or are they other material that's been left behind?
I still have my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I feel like that phone has been the best iPhone I ever owned. I's built like a tank.. I really wish Apple would go back to stainless steel, I know it's heavier but I really like the way it feels. I guess it's just personal preference. One of the reasons why I have not upgraded yet.

Will iOS 26.1 allow the icons to have a scratched (sorry, “brushed”) finish as well?
Demo units… damaged? I don’t think this is exactly a cause to worry lol. It’s a bunch of people ranging from kids to old people touching these devices and not handling them with care cus it isn’t their iPhones. Of course they’re gonna get damaged
Think these are easily getting scratched and it appears the anodized aluminum is not helping. While visiting the store today, did see some models where the color appears to have gone. Also the ring like design caused by MagSafe charger was very visible on the black Air. All the Pro models had some chipping under the camera plateau. Very unsightly. Looks like having a case is a must and I will definitely use a clear case for my Orange 17 Pro Max.

Apple enjoys massive profits from their premium pricing, yet delivers less than premium durability.

My phones go straight to a case as soon as they leave the box. They also get a glass screen protector immediately installed at the Apple Store. It is what it is.
