When we going to get ProMotion HDR that exceeds 120Hz?
Gaming industry monitors refresh rate 120Hz/240/480Hz, Apple still stuck on 120Hz for some of its hardware line. Instead of going forward it’s going backwards to 90Hz with 120Hz still being the cap. I guess this will be called ProMotion lite.
Would you put a mirror behind it then so you could enjoy the backside? The back of the Pro Display is beautiful, be nice if the studio display got it.
How many 5k monitors exist for PC's? not many. the market isnt there.
Haha you'll be lucky if they even offer a stand to purchase separately to attach, bet that's a built to order option still...Oof..
I hope you’re right, but I’m skeptical of 6k, 32” and sub $3k from Apple.
Maybe with no stand?
My office desk is in the middle of the room so I would see the back whenever I come in the room.Would you put a mirror behind it then so you could enjoy the backside?
😊 (sorry, couldn’t resist). - Or offer it as a configurable option?
It’s the #1 reason I want an Apple display. For those of us who make “face over” green screen content (training, lectures, etc), it’s the ideal combination of camera placement and convenience.I never understand why people want a camera built in. I hate that concept. And I have had a 4K webcam for many years now.
If they bump the size to 32", I'll have a not-very-old, very gently used 27" to sell...Awesome ! Maybe I can afford the old one soon! Haha
Because I don't want an ugly gigantic webcam above the display, therefore ruining to overall aesthetics.I never understand why people want a camera built in. I hate that concept. And I have had a 4K webcam for many years now.
Things are improving now that AUO and BOE have joined LG in manufacturing panels, including gaming units with high refresh rates and high-zone-count MiniLED backlights.

The *COMPLETE* list of 27" 5K Displays?
[Update 26 May 2026] This list follows the information format used for the 32" 6K and 8K *complete* list WikiPost threads. Specifications are based on the manufacturer's claims. YMMV. The list is divided into six ► sections: Announced (not yet shipping); Available (pre-orders and shipping)...forums.macrumors.com

Best quarter ever.Apple still living in its Mac club is the best then wonders why sales for its accessories is not that great.
I honestly don't know if this is performative, or if you just don't understand how capitalism works.Apple has no interest in that.
That's good for consumers and allows them to buy less stuff.
This is "Number Go Up" Apple, brought to you by Tim Cook.
apple won't release a non-Retina level resolution.32 inch and 4k camera. All I ask for
I agree. I still find the idea of two 27" screens sold literally side-by-side in Apple stores to be very strange, no matter how different their internal specs may be.Apple has never sold two different displays of the same size at the same time and they won‘t start now. We either get both a 27“ and a 32“ display or the latest rumours are wrong and we just get a new 27“.
My guess is:
Studio Display (current model, with 90hz RR) - Slightly cheaper, $999?
Studio Display XDR (all enhancements) - $1,499
Both still 27-inches. Apple likely knows that the current model is still a fantastic display for most people, but needs to offer better value at the current price range.
I imagine the Pro Display XDR will get an update around WWDC, but with a new enclosure that's cheaper to manufacture than the 3D 'honeycomb' tooling from the Mac Pro. OLED seems like a given at that higher price, too.
No matter the specs, or even design differences, they will both still have a 27" display that to the casual eye will look like the same product. It just seems like it will be inherently confusing. The only reason I can see a "different model" is if they incorporate a full Thunderbolt 5 hub into the display, because that would increase the cost like $350 anyway. It would also be designed differently.
