That reasoning doesn't compute.

If so, doesn't make sense then to discontinue it today. They should discontinue it only when WWDC comes around, and its replacement is announced.

Well I can see two reasons to discontinue it:
1) Stock is critically low so what they have are being held back for warranty replacements;
2) They don't want the negative customer sat of people buying the current PDXDR because they don't want the smaller Studio Display XDR and three months later a new and improved PDXDR model comes out.

I don't think so. It has been out 7 long years. Surely, everyone who wanted one and could afford it has had the opportunity to buy one. Waiting a few more months is nothing compared to 7 long years.

there is no 32" 6k mini led,

this is the new xdr. that's it, that's all, there ain't no more
You’re being speculative (edit: I stand corrected a bit by the PR release). Studio Display XDR is a distinct product and not a direct successor.

It’s a 27” variant of the Pro Display XDR with modern affordances many would hope for after six years. The Pro Display XDR is discontinued with no direct successor but the Studio Display XDR takes its role when it comes to working alongside XDR-tech-based Macs.

There’s still many more months to come and the Prosumer products directly associated with higher end prosumer computing weren’t updated that would make far more sense to debut the successor to the Pro Display XDR with such as the next Mac Studio and Mac Pro

There is no 32” 6k miniLed in existence

That’s not speculation

…I'm well aware. Hence I did not mention a 6K mini-led model is incoming explicitly.

Apple's Ultra XDR baselines deliberately uses Tandem OLED and even 8K OLED monitors already exist by the likes of BOE already.

Accordingly while this new Studio Display XDR replaces the Pro Display XDR as far as Mini-LED-based XDR Apple monitors, it's been long expected that the direct sucessor of the positioning of the Pro Display XDR will use Tandem OLED.

XDR has been tied to mini-led tech, while Ultra XDR has been tied to Tandem OLED tech.

A Tandem OLED sucessor to the Pro Display XDR–under a different name likely to keep accurate the Studio Display XDR replaced the Pro Display XDR–will enable Apple's flagship products (Ultra XDR Macbook Pro, Ultra XDR iPad Pro, OLED-based iPhone Pros / iPhone Pro foldable, and OLED Vision Pro) consistently have the same consistent core screen traits from each other.

I wouldn't be surprised it's called Pro Display Ultra XDR or Studio Display Ultra XDR though I find both a bit weird.
