I hope this doesn’t mean they’re going to be silicone tip only. I love the AirPods 3 design and I don’t think I could wear silicone tip earbuds as much as I wear these.
I wish they would update the second-gen design with a new button and chip. They have superior comfort compared to third-gen, let alone Pros. It would be such a shame if they would discontinue them.
you might want to check out these : https://ozlosleep.com/Hmm, time to stock up on 2nd gen AirPods. These are my “sleeping” airpods since they’re the only ones with stems thin enough to wear comfortably when my ear is on the pillow. My getting a good nights sleep is dependent on these!
lossless support has not enough bandwidth for wireless headsets ...we need better BT
So dont expect lossless support for at least 3-4 years
Thanks for telling us 🙄They better keep a non-silicon tip version available.
I’ve been an AirPods user since day one, literally ordered them the first day you could.
I will NEVER use a version that sticks a plunger in my ear.
Second gen looks more like the wired version. I have third gen AirPods and they work pretty well. I never liked the rubber tips in my ears that IEMs are known for. I do find the AirPods to be a bit too bass heavy on some tracks.
Yeah, I also don’t like the feel of rubber tips but the third-gen is just too big for my ears. I had a pain in one ear when I started using them. Eventually, I got used to them, so now they are just uncomfortable and falling off quite often.
I agree, the 2nd gen ones are the only ones that fit my ears correctly. The 3rd are "okay," and I use them around the house, but do not trust them outside, and the pros are absolutely unusable for me. I purchased 3 sets of 2s when they were $89 recently in anticipation of this.I wish they would update the second-gen design with a new button and chip. Agreed! When they talk about a better fit for the 4th gen, I do hope this is what they mean. The 2nd Gen AirPods without silicon tip are the only ones that fit. I’ve had the 3rd Gen but was to big and fell off. I hope the 4th gen goes back to the same size as the 2nd gen.

I wear mine a lot (3rd Gen) and I think my ears have now stretched a bit. They fall out less frequently now. The pros I wear only when I want ANC (eg public transport), and they need constant adjustment to stay in.I agree, the 2nd gen ones are the only ones that fit my ears correctly. Interesting. Whenever I switch to my AirPods on a call, people get wierded out with the quality.Honestly, AirPods Pro are my least favorite investment. I got them replaced and even then ppl have a hard time hearing me on the mic. Beyond frustrating to use. Convenient? Yes but not for calls.

Did Apple forget about the AirPods Max? I want to buy one but I want to buy one with the latest tech, not a old model that’s going to be replaced soon
I assume the non-ANC version won't have the "plunger". As for the day one purchase, I remember being on holiday in Sydney the day they were released in stores. I was having a coffee in the morning and suddenly remembered. I walked to the nearest Apple Store, joined a long queue up some stairs, and when I got there, the guy said "one pair or two"? I said "one" and he said to the guy behind me, "you're in luck - that's that last pair for you then".They better keep a non-silicon tip version available.

Hopefully the second generation are better as/when Apple release them - it's not indicative, granted, but I've only ever known one person with a pair and they had nothing but trouble.

I'm curious to see what the third generation of AirPods Pro can do. I've had mine for two years now, and they've proven to be really good. I never thought I'd be so impressed. I've tried numerous headphones, on-ear, in-ear, and so on, but none have been as good as the AirPods Pro. They're indispensable at work, and especially the 3D audio is impressive, whether it's listening to music or watching movies on the Apple TV in the evenings. These headphones are worth every damn penny.
The first time I got any AirPods, my ears were sore for a few days. i had been using third-party wired earbuds with silicon tips. I attributed the soreness to new pressure points. After a few days, my ears got used to having pressure on those points and then they felt fine.Same experience with AP3s when they came out -- tried for a couple days and it was just straight "ouch" in my left ear.
AP2s literally disappear for me
I truly can forget I have them in.
They fit that well and that comfortably.
While that is true to some extent, that would probably make the AirPods bigger, heavier and use more materials. As it is, the amount of materials and batteries in those is tiny compared to other computing devices. Have you thrown out any other electronic device in the past couple of years? Batteries, old CD player, even a light bulb? Volume-wise, all of the other products and their containers that get thrown out totally dwrarf the AirPods. It doesn’t meant that Apple shouldn’t try to improve them, but I’m not surprised that the batteries aren’t replaceable, yet.Glad to hear that new Pros are not expected until next year.
Just bought a new pair yesterday ;D
Felt almost transgressive to trash my old AirPod Pros. If Apple truly cared about being green those batteries surely would have been replaceable.
