Typing on the iPhone 4 flat out sucks

I had trouble with hitting a certain letter and the wrong one coming up...like three letters to the left or right of the intended letter...then one day my son mentioned my screen protector, ripped it off and presto! all was good again.

This did the trick for me as well. Thanks, I thought I just sucked at typing on the iphone but once I took off the screen protector I was a pro.

I've been an iPhone user since day 1.. I've never had any problems with the iPhone keyboard.. Idk what's going on with your phone op.. I'm even typing thi message with one hand driving down the street without looking.. Im relying on autocorrect..

For the person coming from a blackberry. Turn autocorrect back on. I can't imagine typing on any screen, even if isnt an iPhone without any type of autocorrect.. Autocorrect is your best friend.. The key is to trust it.. And if it wants to replace a word you typed with another word that you don't want, you can always use the blue x..

And idk y, just my 2 cents.. I type faster on my iPhone in portrait.. I remember when we didn't have the option to use horizontal to respond to text messages etc.. I can type left handed, right handed.. 2 handed.. And I type just as fast 2 handed that I do with either hand.. I'm sorry, but I think I'm the sickest iPhone typer ever lol. I think ima make a video now.. B

But yea. The key is to trust the keyboard

I remember when I used to text while driving. Was winter time a few years ago, road was empty and everything and the sun was just setting and this stupid fox ran across the road and I lost control and hit somebody's garden fence and ****ed up the bumper of my car.

Couldn't care less about the car but I'm stupidity ruined someone's garden fence which I am sorry for and I'm just grateful no one was hurt. Ever since then I've never text while driving again.

At least it's a lot better than on Android. Typing on my galaxy s phone SUCKS! it's accurate, despite the bigger screen. In addition, swype sucks huge as well. Can't wait for iPhone 5. Never going back to android again.

I love it... I can enjoy the QWERTY on my Pixi and Veer and do it while not looking as much, but the feedback with movement makes them feel worn out. The iPhone 4 is something I've become very quickly, I wouldn't want a design change for the iPhone ever to a physical QWERTY

I have never had this issue. I type fast all of the time on my iPhone. Autocorrect is both a blessing and a piece of crap.

Then you're going to LOVE Shortcuts in iOS5. AutoCorrect works as it is intended to and Shortcuts ... if you're from Blackberry then think AutoText.

yes OU812!!

I'm going insane on the fence ... get iP4 or 9900 or BOTH then get sorted out afterwards.

PS: to the op. If you haven't tried Android typing (not swipe which I think is utter crap) its WORSE! I touch type faster on the PC/Mac, then BlackBerry and an immediately close after the iPhone ... by maybe 1/5characters lower on avg less than the BB.

However I'm more efficient in tweets, blog entrys (wordpress just works better on iPhone as dose so many apps: Twitter imbedded in iOS is junk though) on BB.

Where did the OP go? TROLL

90% of these types of threads are just trolls looking to get a rise out of everyone here. This is especially evident when they never reply back within a day or two.

I use a Bold for work and an iPhone for myself. I prefer email and talking on the Bold but everything else on the iPhone. Depending on what the iPhone 5 will be like I may skip the Bold and use my iPhone 5 for both. I'm sick of having two phones and to be honest a new phone just for email and talking isn't worth it to me anymore considering how well iPhone has been keeping up.

If you want to know what sucks, trying being used to typing on an iPhone, then type on an Android phone keyboard. I think that is awful.

But in all seriousness, I have not experienced any trouble with the iPhone keyboard on all the models I owned - especially the 4.
