Has anyone heard about the stock levels at the Apple Store in Southampton, or generally any other Apple Stores (apart from the big ones in London!)

Thanks

I've mentioned in other threads that as of yesterday, the guys in the West Quay (Southampton) Apple store didn't know how many they were getting in.

I'll try and get hold of my genius friend tonight to see if this has changed.

can't be possible since all the stores received the stocks since wednesday. at least in london.

I know the manager well and he hadn't received shipment midday Wednesday and wasn't expecting to receive anything until Friday.

Southampton certainly isn't London though!

i just got back from the metro centre (newcaslte) and they were all sold out in the o2 store and none were on show in CPW, but i overheard the sales woman telling another guy they would be getting a shipment in tommorow...

who knows?

If I buy from an Apple store, can I leave with it boxed up?
I don't want to activate there and then.
Thanks

I bought my S from O2 store and they never opened the phone. I had the pleasure in the car park before heading home :)

Note you can't do anything with the phone without plugging it into iTunes first though.

I want to buy a PAYG so I can unlock it. Apple activate in store and carphone warehouse don't stock PAYG. The only choice it seems is via 02. But they tell me that you have to do a top up procedure. Anyone know why or of any other method?
I suppose I could order online, it should be sealed in this case, but looking at 5 days.

I bought mine from the apple online store (16GB 3GS) last week - as o2 was out of stock. It said 5 days but arrived in two :) also no topup required. Im using the simplicity tariff now.

When you buy the PAYG in an O2 shop, you'll be handed a sealed iPhone and a sealed SIM pack.

You'll be charged the price of the phone plus £10 for the SIM.

What you do after that is up to you.
