Ill be going to a carphone warehouse store, not through choice, but I have about £100 worth of vouchers to spend there, and I get discount there, so I'm hoping that might be applied to my purchase too!

EDIT: Ive just checked my discount website and "excludes payg airtime, Apple products, in-car products and other products at descretion." That just sucks.

Hehe, always the way. Where I am buying the phone from, the CPW and o2 shop are 30 seconds walk between so no worries there I guess. Still really nervous that they will run out before I get my chance to buy it, although I will be waiting about an hour before they open I think.

Have they not ironed out this issue by now :confused:

If you read the thread about it on here, the number of posts has dropped immensely recently - which may suggest it's fixed. However, someone posted yesterday/today saying they'd bought a week 44 unit which has the problem. So, I dunno.

Bit of a dilemma - part of me says I should visit Appleservedup.com on one of the demo 'phones and test the screen fully, part of me says just look at it and if it looks OK buy one. Will play it by ear I guess. :)

Depends where I end up, o2 or CPW look most likely as I imagine I won't be around Meadowhall at the time.

I will try CW liverpool st/london ...if they don't have any might try over the weekend.
Although its a wanna have toy I don't think UK general public will splash out £270 and jump into O2 contract just like that....
They will def. be waiting for us in stores ...the mac fanatics :)

The one inside the station or outside in front of the station ? i was thinking to go to the one in front of the station or the O2 store in leadenhall market....i'm not sure yet. What time will you get there ?

Trafford Centre

I'm going to the Trafford Centre, primarily for the Apple Store:D but they also have and 02:mad: store and a carphone warhouse:confused: store very close. I'm planning to be there between 1:00pm and 2:00pm what time are you planning to be there?

:apple::apple::apple: iPhone here we come!!!!

outside the station ...and then try the other ones if nothing ....not sure what time but probably about 6.15-6.30 ...when the first wave is over ...
My office is just around the corner ...if there are too many people i'll just come back later..

Interesting results so far (from a sample of 90 people):

1. More than 4 out of 10 people buying from an Apple Store (least number of outlets);

2. More than a quarter buying from O2;

3. Only about 1 in 10 buying from CPW (which has the most number of outlets by far);

4. About 17% not buying immediately or at all.

I wonder how representative of the actual situation on Friday this turns out to be.

Probably not very, since most (if not all) of the people on here will be Apple fans and thus more likely to buy from an Apple store if there's one within a reasonable distance of them. I'd guess the general public are more likely to go to CPW.

Yes, I think that you're probably right. After all 90 is only a fraction of the sales figures expected on Friday night!
