By the way, if you sign up for a free UPS my choice account, you’ll get notified the moment a shipping label is printed. No need to deal with constantly trying the reference number.
Hmm, for me, I get notifications after it's been picked up so the two watches, which are still "label created" didn't generate a notice for me.

I also have 2 phones that *have* been picked up in China & I didn't get a notice about those, either, though I think that it might be at Apple's request.

No, it definitely is Louisville.
Related to the message above, here's a post from last year's thread showing the customs scan.

I was surprised by that as it’s not the first entry into the US. Guess they don’t have the facilities in AK
Yeah, I always wondered that since it lands in Anchorage, but it has always cleared customs in Louisville for some reason.

Following along here once again this year. Got my order in yesterday right when the store came up at about 7:03am, and had my confirmation email at 7:05. Was charged for tax yesterday and everything. I was hoping for some tracking in the UPS app today, but so far nothing.

I know this happens every year, where some seem to get their tracking info later. Hoping for some good news overnight or tomorrow!

Black 16 Pro Max 1TB, in case it matters.
Same phone, no tracking yet either but seems I got tracking on Sunday a couple years ago.. i recall waking up in the middle of the night to check haha

It has to clear customer once it hits Alaska from China.

They actually don’t clear customs until Louisville KY

You are both correct. If the flight is just landing in ANC for fuel and then continuing to WorldPort no customs until SDF. If Cargo containers are offloaded to transfer to domestic UPS flights then they hit customs.

Nothing gets broken down/sorted in ANC. When they scan your individual box in KY then its considered clearing customs
Sorry but no the Cargo Crates / Pallets clear customs in bulk. By the time the boxes hit the sorting / routing area they have already cleared the Secure area of Customs.

I just don't get that. I LOVE that I can trade in my phone WITHOUT it being lost/fake lost and Apple giving me crap for a week. I get to be IN STORE where ALL THE EXCITEMENT is.....who cares about where the UPS driver is? I;m sorry, but I am not interested in tracking my return phone or where my driver is.
I always took my phone in to Apple. I’ve never sent it in.
