The only reason Google keeps its share is that the majority haven't found a better alternative. If there is a better alternative we'd be reading all about it and within seconds change our browsers to use the new engine.
I switched over to DuckDuckGo's search engine (as default from Safari) a few years ago, and haven't looked back. Once in a long while I'll run a query on DDG and get back mediocre results, and try the same search in Google to see if it's any better, and it's... usually a coin toss whether it has anything better or not.

Great Comment love the spirit love the wording just nahhhh, let’s not have anything to do with google, shall we?…
imagine Apple Chrome w a chromed out shiny rainbow Apple Logo.
btw Tim needs to stop w the "Apple XXX" nomenclature. bring back iNames. iMissSteve

Thanks for the advice. But I’ll pass this time around. 👍
That’s some funny stuff. A little reality check goes a long ways in life. Just doing research anywhere that isn’t others drinking Apple Kool Aid leads to more facts.

it’s disingenuous. If it’s your opinion, fine. But if presenting as a fact a citation goes a long way. I’m not here to verify your opinions.

You mean you'd rather the Apple Watch be called the iWatch? Apple Vision Pro be called iVision Pro? Apple TV be called iTV? For consistency, should therefore all Mac products be iMac e.g., iMacBook Air, iMac mini, etc.?

I think iWatch and iTV had already been registered trademarks by other companies.

There are several parts of Google including search, advertising, software, services, hardware, etc. How would you propose it be broken up?
I think breaking the advertising arm off would be the most impactful. Google can only afford to give services away for free by subsidising it from advertising revenue.

If Google products and services had to pay for themselves (license fee, subscription, one-off payment) then it would give an opening for many more competitors to enter the market and compete with Google.
