Yes, "presumption of innocence" involves showing up in the court to prove "not guilty" - a much lower mark to meet than proving innocence. Let the judge decide.

I don't know that she is a criminal - she didn't flee to Canada, just fighting to stay there and not face the charges.
As for using the "flee" in my post, I am talking about USA residents charged with a crime who flee to Canada to avoid capital penalty. Last I remember, Canada won't extradite these people unless the inhuman capital punishment component is removed.
Canada has been historically the place people avoiding law flee to from the USA, whether it is the draft or the actual criminal proceeding.
