I guess not? It’s a problem that Apple has such a large user base. I guess you can’t utilize the user base you create. This is very frustrating.Apple is bringing new solutions to consumers. Can’t have that now?
Tile had the path to stay ahead, but they languished their position by:People have no sense of empathy or know what it is anymore. If you were a small third party app/company with a product and that product ended up being reborn as a new shiny Apple product everyone MUST have, you would have the opposite opinion of what you state here.
If a company literally cannot be competed with, then they're a monopoly. If there are actual reasons they can't be broken up, then they need to be regulated as a utility. If you can't compete, you can always sue.
I guess? There are people on this site (and Spotify) that complains about the Apple Music price. Why? Why does a competitor get to tell another competitor how to price their product? So Apple makes a better, cheaper product and somehow it's illegal?
Tile were sued and settled out of court for stealing the idea in the first place.Even if you are an Apple super fan and believe they can do no wrong, it’s not really hard to see Apple(and others) have been taking plenty of ideas and products from others to create their own with the platform to highlight their own products over the years.
Because there is more game releases than anything else ?Why for example, is the Today tab of the iOS App Store App flooded every single day with Game Apps & Apple Arcade promos ?
9 freaking years to build up a network of only 4.5 million! Sounds like an utter failure in marketing, management and partnering with strategic industries.Tile had the path to stay ahead, but they languished their position by:
- Still not offering ultra wideband, which is inexcusable when Apple added to UWB to iPhone 11 more than 1.5 years ago.
- Often does not work!
- Taking too long to make Tile with user replaceable battery, which is only available on limited number of products.
- Pedestrian-to-ugly design on their flagship product (Tile Pro).
- Suspicious privacy policy -- hard to understand and it claims your anonymized and aggregated information is shared with 3rd party.
- Subscription ($30 without insurance, $100 with insurance) for all but very basic features. The subscription is worth it only if you have lots of Tiles as the price includes complementary battery for all Tiles with user replaceable battery, (costs about $1/each in bulk so you will need to have LOTS of Tiles).
No, that is ridiculous. tile did not invent trackers, and unless you can use our broken patent system to your benefit, you can't lock down an idea.People have no sense of empathy or know what it is anymore. If you were a small third party app/company with a product and that product ended up being reborn as a new shiny Apple product everyone MUST have, you would have the opposite opinion of what you state here.
Their business model is subscriptions not hardware sales. Of course they are going to be butthurt.Tile can easily compete with Airtags by putting out a product that works with the ‘Find My App’ Now that Apple has opened up Find my App To the competition
Looks like Tile doesn’t want to spend the money and would rather yell Anti Competitive
Tile needs to open its tracking to third party tags, let the best trackers win! where is Samsung, btw? still only works on Samsung phones? patheticSo tile doesn’t work well but they should be protected from competition?
Again, Apple should be forced to make Tile compatible iPhones rather than Tile voluntarily offering iOS compatible tags...
I'm sure that there are products from other companies available, so that there isn't a monopoly where you have to buy Apple products.Because they have a monopoly and engage in anticompetitive activities?
If you can't compete, you can always sue.
I have Tiles for my keys, wallet, and other things. The tech is great if it works, but it just doesn’t WORK much of the time. In fact MOST of the time. You literally have to be right on top of the item which defeats the whole purpose. Thank God Apple is getting in the space. Tile can F right off.If you can't compete, you can always sue.
What line? Why on earth should tile dominate the space with their subpar product. It’s a great concept with flawed execution. Just because Apple is a giant company doesn’t mean they can’t compete and improve upon existing technology. The consumer is benefited by this not harmed. This was already scheduled. And while I think Apple's on solid ground with AirTags/FindMy, the issue is anticompetitive activities by large tech companies generally, and it's certainly relevant to discuss these products among others when considering how those lines might be drawn.
How does someone compete with the U1 chip?If you can't compete, you can always sue.
No they will not. Or not enough. Do people remember Biden is senile, wrong about everything ever in foreign affairs, and corrupt? Do people remember Trump is immoral, a little looney, easy provoked personally, and unfocused? No people vote on so many factors and ignore so many others that what politicians did to your favorite company doesn’t make the list. This is just showboating to stay in the news and get Apple to start paying them off.Be careful Politician People everyone feels very safe in the Walked Garden.....U mess with products people love and they will remember at election time.
Let me make a public choice critique- because Apple has a ton of money and politicians want it. And one way to get it is to make vague threats, do some investigations and the companies start donating money where you want it and become part of the system.Because they have a monopoly and engage in anticompetitive activities?
