If Apple win this case it’s only a matter of time before they do the same with the Mac AppStore leaving it as the only place you can buy Mac software.

I don't know...proprietary connections like on tons of products, such as tools, car parts, etc. It happens all the time.

Reverse Engineering such things is legal in the USA so the example you cite is not applicable.

Then why was Gillette suing dollar shave club?

Because of purported patent violations, the same reason Apple sued Samsung but I don't suppose you were against that action?

Gillette doesn't prevent companies from selling their own blades to customers. Apple does.

Gillette would not be held responsible if third-party blades caused harm. Contrarily, users would blame Apple if something on their iPhone was compromised or caused damage, even if they obtained it from somewhere other than the official App Store. Big difference. There's many factors at play here, and to think that Apple is only motivated to make money is absurd.

There is no such thing. You want "free and open" -- go to Android. We want vetted and secure, thank you.

YOU want vetted and secure. Don’t speak for the rest of us. I want the option of alternative iOS app stores.

they haven’t yet. Why would that change?

Because they’re greedy and they want the 30% revenue cut of all software sold.

Here's the thing: Apple created this shiny little phone. They're under no obligation to support third party code on their devices. But they decided to give everyone the privilege to create third party code to run on their plattform. It's not your right and you're not forced to participate, and as such, you're subject to whatever conditions you're required to comply in order to have your code on their property. Don't agree with them? go elsewhere, free will.
Yes, but Apple needed those developers to make it really work. Android would have already devoured the them if they didn't support third party developers.

That being said, I like Apple's security policies for their store more than Android.

Somehow? There's a lot of backstory you aren't unpacking there, you may want to look into it. Not to mention marketshare, Apple is in no position to be a monopoly with only 11% of the world's devices using its platforms.
Well the Supreme court resides/presides here in America where the Iphone is the leading market share.

I have to wonder why you have an iPhone since you seemingly hate how it works and the company that makes it.

The App Store is a monopoloy and that is bad for consumer choice. Clear and simple.

Consumer choice is better now than it was before there was an App Store. Clear and simple.

Here's what's going on: Apple designed and built a phone, operating system, app store, supply chain, and supporting infrastructure that has generated hundreds of billions of dollars in sales. Then people who have created absolutely nothing want to tell them how they should run their business and claim they're bad for consumer choice. Give me a break.

Leading from second place.

I assure you beyond all reasonable doubt that the current version of Apple ONLY cares about making as much money as humanly possible.

Someone can love their purchase and not agree with everything about it. Geez you fanbpis really love being dictated to.

Yes, I'm an Apple Fanboy. That's why my phone is a Pixel 2 XL and my laptop a Pixelbook. I just know that if you don't like the way an OS is run, you buy a product that better suits your ideals. It's not rocket science.

Somehow that argument didn't work in favor of Microsoft..if you didn't like internet explorer, you didn't have to buy a Windows desktop.
But we are always told that the iPhone has just a tiny market share. 15 percent I hear. Microsoft had 90 percent.
