uBar of screen left side.

Hi,
Is there a way I can position uBar vertically on the left side of the screen? I always keep the dock there because on the right side I have some folders/disks. I cannot find anything in the preferences. Thanks,

Hi Rob, uBar only displays on the bottom at the moment, but you could unpin the right side and get it to tuck over to the left.

Is it possible that if a favorite app is hidden, it will also be hidden on uBar?

Can I buy this from the App Store with iTunes credit? My only way to buy it...

Ooops...I only have 11 dollars. I cant afford it.

@TechGod if you truly have so little money at the moment, then you have my empathy.

Vertical

… 2.5.0

If uBar is able to stand vertical then I'll be one happy camper. :)

At https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/21550215 under Non OS X Alternatives to OS X Yosemite, the first and third screen shots show – to the left of each screen – a vertical panel in KDE. I imagine a future uBar behaving somewhat like the running apps part of that panel.

More generally

I had drifted away from using uBar. Forgot how great it is. Now using it again …

Hi TechGod, it isn't on the App Store due to the restrictions. Sorry.

Glad to hear that:) Good stuff coming this summer.

This developer quite honestly is the best and most friendly developer I have EVER encountered. I will try and help promote this amazing app in anyway possible. Maybe I can put it in my signature?

I remember the last time I used uBar, it had window previews like Windows, what happened to that?
It was a feature in uBar 1, but with uBar 2 being a total re-write I never got around to it again. But it will be coming back.

Currently, when double-clicking a window title-bar (or alt-click the fullscreen button), the window is expanded fully vertically with uBar being on top. Would it be possible to not have uBar overlap as it would on Windows if you used the maximize button ? Or is it something that OSX makes it impossible ?

Another small request that I do not know if it is possible: using Firefox or Thunderbird and probably other apps, when these apps have several window opened, these window are listed in the 'Window' top menu entry of each app, but are not appearing as taskbar entries in uBar (either grouped or as individual entries). Is it something technically possible to add ?

Fantastic app, been using it for a long time. Can you please add a way to permanently toggle activity mode? Instead of pressing the Activity mode shortcut, you could add a toggle in the Advanced section or something. Thanks again for making this!

I'm guessing this has been asked before - sorry.
Can you add the ability to only show applications from the currently-used Desktop (aka Space)?
I believe there's no API to know which windows are on currently-unused spaces, so another app that tries to do this (HyperSwitch) first has to visit every open space.

thanks.

Release Notes for 2.5.1
  • Announcement: uBar 3 is now available with new features and enhancements.
  • Fix: Tooltips and calendar no longer display at incorrect height on off-axis secondary displays (Reported by Ako Tulu)

This is fixed in uBar 3.0.2:
  • Fix: Apps with flawed launch/AX sequence such as FireFox now report windows properly (Reported by Hans Gerd Evertz)

Will see how that can be done. For now there is a trick: hold control and click an app button that has a menu, and the activity mode will hold after you click out of the menu until another special key is pressed (Shift/Control/Option/Command).

Looking into this.

uBar 3 is out! $10 to upgrade, $20 for new users.

Yup. Great new features and enhancements!

NOTE: uBar 4 is out - please continue discussion in the uBar 4 thread.
