Hi,
Is there a way I can position uBar vertically on the left side of the screen? I always keep the dock there because on the right side I have some folders/disks. I cannot find anything in the preferences. Thanks,
Hi Rob, uBar only displays on the bottom at the moment, but you could unpin the right side and get it to tuck over to the left.
Is it possible that if a favorite app is hidden, it will also be hidden on uBar?
Can I buy this from the App Store with iTunes credit? My only way to buy it...It's shortcut time:
Release Notes for 2.4.9
- Feature: New Shortcuts pane in Preferences window allowing a custom shortcut for toggling hiding, showing the uBar menu, and activity mode (Suggested by Tobias Bergström)
- Feature: A separator divides folders from Apps in the Applications menu when the Show folders first option is checked (Suggested by Rob Wyatt)
- Tweak: German localization updated (Thanks to Benjamin Bock)
- Tweak: Activity mode is now triggered by the right-control key by default
- Fix: Bar no longer visually glitches when it auto-(un)hides on a secondary screen that does not have a common baseline with the primary screen (Reported by Michael McLane)
- Fix: Calendar day of the week now displays properly in Chinese
- Fix: Apps dragged to the Menu list in the Preferences are now sorted properly (Reported by Rob Wyatt)
Ooops...I only have 11 dollars. I cant afford it.
… 2.5.0
If uBar is able to stand vertical then I'll be one happy camper.![]()

Vertical
+1
At https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/21550215 under Non OS X Alternatives to OS X Yosemite, the first and third screen shots show – to the left of each screen – a vertical panel in KDE. I imagine a future uBar behaving somewhat like the running apps part of that panel.
More generally
I had drifted away from using uBar. Forgot how great it is. Now using it again …
I remember the last time I used uBar, it had window previews like Windows, what happened to that?Hi TechGod, it isn't on the App Store due to the restrictions. Sorry.
Glad to hear thatGood stuff coming this summer.
It was a feature in uBar 1, but with uBar 2 being a total re-write I never got around to it again. But it will be coming back.I remember the last time I used uBar, it had window previews like Windows, what happened to that?
Another small request that I do not know if it is possible: using Firefox or Thunderbird and probably other apps, when these apps have several window opened, these window are listed in the 'Window' top menu entry of each app, but are not appearing as taskbar entries in uBar (either grouped or as individual entries). Is it something technically possible to add ?
Fantastic app, been using it for a long time. Can you please add a way to permanently toggle activity mode? Instead of pressing the Activity mode shortcut, you could add a toggle in the Advanced section or something. Thanks again for making this!
I'm guessing this has been asked before - sorry.
Can you add the ability to only show applications from the currently-used Desktop (aka Space)?
I believe there's no API to know which windows are on currently-unused spaces, so another app that tries to do this (HyperSwitch) first has to visit every open space.
thanks.
uBar 3 is out! $10 to upgrade, $20 for new users.
