All driver services already have a record of where you were picked up and left off. So if you're into some idea of privacy, you already lost out by not driving yourself.

This case actually smacks of an executive simply wanting to look like they're trying to improve service, so they came up with the idea of seeing how close to your final destination the driver actually got you.

Now I can stop re-posting my review on the app every time they "update it" (ie try to clear out their negative reviews). I was even ready to change the review once iOS 11 launched to tell everyone they can control when the app sees their location now... glad I won't have to do that either.
