Does anyone know anything about these guys? That's pretty tempting if it's actually any good.
Yea Udemy is my favourite online learning platform, I have taken several courses and thats how I learned programming (you can check my LinkedIn profile for a complete list and a certificate verifying that I took the course). Specifically Rob's course is great. I don't have any affiliation with him but I have taken his iOS 8 course and I learnt a lot. It starts from basic, like installing the Xcode and developer stuff. Then goes into the basics of SWIFT and making simple apps. Then it does into make app clones but focus on the functionally. Like if he creates a maps app, you will see how to pin stuff on it etc, which you can then use in your own app.
After taking his course and learning more online, I released two apps on the AppStore. Funny part is, its harder to get them noticed then it was to make them. Anyways you definitely can't go wrong with $24 for this course. . Not all Udemy courses are equal but this one is great, I'll vouch for that.
I managed to use an online coupon to get most courses for $10 which in my opinion is a no brainer. Udemy has an iOS app which lets you save lectures or whole courses online. Rob also had a few KickStarter campaign which to his luck generated a lot of funding. Especially the last one because he has a huge student base now on Udemy and was able to leverage that (by sending us emails about it) I pledged or his Android course coming soon.
Though I must point out, looking at the course content (didn't purchase the iOS9) one, I'm a LITTLE disappointed. The course does use Xcode 7 beta and SWIFT 2.0 but "for iOS 9" is misleading because it doesn't tackle the new feature. I don't think he address, multitasking, Search API, any WatchOS2 features like haptic feedback and crown use. So yes, if you built an app with the content you learnt it will be iOS9 compatible but its not leveraging iOS9. But you might as well get the iOS9 course because if you use a good coupon it will be the same price as his iOS8 but will be up to date (in terms of syntax and stuff)
