Would it be smarter to buy 2GB x2? Or 4GB and 2GB?

Oh, and I'm getting my HDD today, and my RAM card(s) do I order later.
But can I install my HDD today, and install my RAM cards in 3-4 days, or should I do it all in one day?
I know I have to reinstall the OS when I get a new HDD (I don't take backup, only the files that I really need). but do I have to do that when I install the new RAM too?

I don't have to install the HDD today, but im really excited! :)

Having two 2GB chips will you give a little speed boost due to dual channel RAM. But the boost is less than 10%, therefore better got with 5GB or 6GB RAM.

And you can install the HDD separate from the RAM, as installing RAM does not need a reinstall of Mac OS X.

Maybe you have a look at this guide, as it explains how to get data from HDD to another in the case of getting a new HDD:
MacBook, MacBook Pro: Replacing the Hard Disk Drive, transferring data to the new HDD

I got my 2011 macbook pro 13 last weekend. I just placed an order at Newegg for Samsung 1 TB hard drive for $79.99 after $20 off promo code and 8 GB of G.Skill ram for $72.99 after $10 off promo code. So total came out to $153.97 shipped. So I guess I got a pretty good deal.

Sweet!
But I got two products ready to buy!

4GB ram thing:
Type: DRAM
Technology: DDR3 SDRAM
Productshapefactor(?): SO DIMM 204-pins
Memory speed(?): 1066 MHz ( PC3-8500 )
Waiting time(...?): CL7 ( 7-7-7-20 )
Datasomething: Not-ECC
RAM-Functions: Not-bufret

HDD:
Width 7 cm
Depth 10 cm
Height 9.5 mm
Weight 115 g

Productshapefactor(?) 2.5" x 1/8H
Capasity: 750 GB
Grensesnittype Serial ATA-300
Bufferstørrelse 16 MB
Features QuietStep, Native Command Queuing (NCQ), Ramp Load

Dataoverføringshastighet 300 MBps (ekstern)
Gjennomsnittlig ventetid 4.2 ms
Spindelhastighet 7200 opm

I don't know all the different words, but you can guess yourself to it if you try. Like 7200 OPM is probably RPM (Or whatever it is)

Please answer. The site ships tonight, and I want the products fast! :p

RAM is alright, can you post the link to the HDD?

I'm looking to upgrade my HDD to 500gb as well, will prob get a WD Scorpio blue 5400rpm, just because I don't want any increased vibration.

Anyone else do this with that drive and like it or have issues?

Thread piggybacking I know...

I'd personally get a Hitachi or Seagate. Apple fit them as original equipment.

I've seen enough failures of WD drives in corporate PC laptops to put be off buying them.
