Definite fake.
It's an exact image of the iPhone 3G next to it, just blurred up and changed a little with photoshop to show a front view camera.

That's not the way it works. You see, the onus is on the purveyor of the pictures to prove they are real, not for us to prove they are fake. Combined with the fact that we haven't seen 32GB chips in production just yet let alone 128GB, and that Version numbers have not ever said "prototype" as of yet, it seems pretty clear that someone tried too hard and failed.

We've seen 32GB chips in production.

Though you are correct that no 128GB chips.

I guess that site isn't concerned about their credibility as a rumor mill.

The specs are so out-of-line with what is next on the horizon. Check out those battery life numbers, for example. We won't see numbers like that for years.

Fake, just check the song number. If its a prototype, I highly doubt more than 100 songs would be there, they already know the iPod part of it works.

Also, Apple will not use Prototype 3.0 as a name, something more like Avalanche or Bloomingdale is more possible/plausible than Prototype.

Camera facing front I can see that going in, it means video calls and means AT&T can grasp some more revenue from that. 3.5G will most definitely be there. Other than that... not much.

I just want Real GPS and full HSDPA/HSUPA internals. I don't mind having 16GB, thats plenty for me. Now, something I terribly want is the old Aluminum look the iPhone had. That's something that I most definitely want.

128 GB iPhone? WOAH! I mean, lets get serious here people! Is all that really necessary for a PHONE? If you want that much, get a Touch! I don't see Apple doing this by Summer 2009.

Even though the iPod touch is only available at a max of 32GB?
And a 64GB is expected to be released in February?
Still, not 128GB's.
Just proving out points more; since the iPod touch is well over a year from 128GB I doubt the iPhone will have 128GB for a couple of years.

I got a question for yall. Why can't Apple put a Hard Drive instead of Flash chips in there?

If they can, and it be allowed in the next iPhone, then can't we get 128GB

*Note, I think this is FAKE ALL THE WAY, I'm just wondering*

Actually, then we'd have the possibility of having a 240GB iPhone.
And the reason is because hard drives are thick, very think, compared to flash.
Flash is also a lot faster.

Its fake and i can explain why:

The screen on the second picture looks too bright, this is because it is a screenshot from an iphone which has the model number, and the capacity edited with a helvetica text box. Then skewed onto the original picture in photoshop. It has then been saved as a jpeg, compressing it even more, therefore decreasing the quality and making it look more grainy.

Also, they are more fragile and use more power, both of which would be undesirable in a mobile phone that customers expect to perform all day and night without recharging.

124GB? Thats even more than iPod Classics. I doubt, with the slimness of this, that they can fit a HDD in it. If they want to do 124GB of flash memory. Well, I'd say, no one would buy it. It'll cost a bomb.

Exactly why we think it's fake.
The iPhone only has one slot for a NAND flash chip.
I don't even think they make 128GB NAND, well at least not at a reasonable price.
