Being first in the queue means nothing. Plenty of other BTOs (with the 680MX and all manner of other configs) have been shipped ahead of me.

I know it's still inside the window original promised, but this is infuriating.

I'm refreshing Apple's page every 5 minutes with my eyes closed, and when I open it I see.... THAT IT IS STILL PROCESSING!!

Guess I just have to give up any hopes of receiving it before x-mas.

I think not. there's no consistency. I ordered mine 10 mins after it was up. I bought with i7 680mx...etc.. I know plenty has received their setup all ready with the specs I ordered. Mine is still processing. This will be a crappy weekend if nothing happens before that. I guess there's no update during the weekend ?

It will depend on if you ordered anything else with you iMac such as applecare. If its the Unit on its own normally you will get a 1Z show up in a day or two for UPS, You can also keep trying the 82 on TNT tracking HERE but make sure you use the international tracking and use the 82 in the reference box...

Syncreon tracking needs the 82 number and your order number and can be tracked HERE

Updates do happen over the weekend, but it depends where they are shipping orders to and from.

I have someone from Apple calling me back today with an update on one of the orders but I seem to get the impression Friday maybe the cut off date for delivery before christmas. I will let you know the explanation given (should be interesting).

Strange, for many days now there has been a 'pending' charge against my credit card waiting to pay for the iMac. The iMac is waiting in Shanghai airport on it's way to me in Thailand and now the credit card charge has disappeared from my account! It's simply gone! Does this mean I get a free iMac? confused:I very much doubt it!!)

Mine is shipped. Just left Korea at the moment. Expected on Monday. Checked CC last night, not charged yet. I think they will charge me anytime now. No, def no free iMac for us. Only more inconvenient for us, not being able to use CC for a long time.

"Please Note: Your items dispatched from different locations and will be merged together before delivery. Once merged, your Order Status will be updated with carrier and tracking information (at latest 48 business hours before your estimated delivery date)."

It was despatched yesterday & is now at 'Origin Airport Terminal'-never seen that on an Apple Computer order before. (Ordered @ 8.29 on 30th thro' the Royal Mail [company] discount section of Apple, i7 680MX & 1TB Fusion, delivery 20th, originally 27-28th).

The items will merge in transit, normally at Hinkley. Your iMac will pick up a jiffy with your applecare policy book. It normally take three days... So I guess you may get it Tuesday! Once it reaches the UK tracking will update with a 1Z UPS number at a guess

Still processing here, the way things are going with this ********* up way of picking and packing orders I reckon I will beable to walk into a high street apple shop and get a new iMac before mine is dispatched.

My 680 i7. Ordered at 8.15 on the 30th is still processing. It is definitely completely random. Rather annoying. But I just want it at some point next week and to be perfect. No yellow screen, no scratches. That'd be nice.

Maybe the combination 3TB Fusion and GTX 675mx is the reason. I have not read any shipping notice with this combination in this forum.

Czech Republic order, still says " Dispatched: 2 - 3 Weeks Delivers 28 Dec, 2012 - 04 Jan, 2013" though. Waiting for more concrete details on delivery

Maybe Apple should take a leaf out of Dominos Pizza, and build an App that lets you monitor the production of your machine...

Stage 1. check you are worthy of a machine and have cash
Stage 2. chuck your order on a pile somewhere in china, and select at random which to make first
Stage 3. Nice people in China collect all the parts to make your device
Stage 4. Its in the oven... and sizzling hot! (oops wrong app)
Stage 4. Nice folk in China make you a nice scratch and issue free device
Stage 5. Send customer a Preparing to Ship notice, and make them wait a day
Stage 6. Play Origami with packing, and print label to shipping address
Stage 7. Shipped along with the other 2m devices that are in short supply
Stage 8. Arrives in destination country, awaits for the nice folk at UPS to give us a tracking number
Stage 9. Delivery day - And your out at work as tracking did not update sooner
Stage 10. Work out how to flat pack box, and put somewhere safe and work out how to switch on mac.
