Del, Gocsan... Where's pics and report of your machines? :)

Hey mlamb64150, don't worry I haven't forgotten you guys. The worst thing happened is that my phone line died on Saturday when I was unboxing the baby, so therefore NO INTERNET for the next 3 working days whilst BT tries to fix it.

Anyway, here's a pic:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/akoo7opxttyxobq/2012-12-22 11.45.24.jpg

When I got the baby, I examined the exterior and there are no scratches. But it was cold to touch, so I left it to warm up to room temperature before turning it on. There are no noticeable dead pixels or noisy dodgy hard drives. I can't believe how quiet this machine really is. My girlfriend always complained about my old noisy PC and couldn't sleep when I use it. I can't even tell that if it is switched on or off when the screen goes black due to inactivity. This happened last night when I got home to find that my girlfriend had forgotten to switch it off and I was curious whether she had switched it off or not, but she didn't. For the spec I have, the boot time is about 15 seconds which is amazingly fast compared to my old PC of 45 seconds. I heard that the i7 version with fusion drive will have about 13 seconds boot time. The sound quality is adequate, but if you're a hardcore music fan, then this probably won't be good enough as it lacks the base.

Anyways, I guess my time here on this thread has come to an end. It has been a pleasure talking to some of you guys and this thread has kept me good company. Good luck to everyone who are still waiting for their iMac. The waiting is definitely worth it. :D

We shall meet again on macrumors in the future. Any specific questions you have, just PM me.

Laterz all!!

ITS HERE!!! UPS guy carried it on his shoulder and ALMOST dropped it behind him; my heart skipped a beat!

Haha mine did the same. Unfortunately still not managed to find a narrow desk, so imac stays in the box for the time being :(. Might get it out later to migrate from MacBook, but it hasn't got its proper home sorted yet

Many of you can be happy. I ordered mine only on Dec 3rd and it's not due till early January.

Processing Items
Dispatched: 3 - 4 Weeks
Delivers 02 Jan, 2013 - 07 Jan, 2013

Qty: 1
27-inch iMac

Configuration

3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 675MX 1G GDDR5
MAGIC TRACKPAD-Z
Apple Num Kybd+User's Guide-B
COUNTRY KIT-B

Mine just switched to "Preparing for Shipment"... So all is on track so far.

I think everybody who ordered around Dec 3rd should see an update soon.

All the people who already got their iMacs or have already gone to 'Preparing for Shipment' over the last days, I think that's to do with the fact that Apple also produces the most common specs for all their stores. And if your iMac is one of those configurations and they live close to an Apple Store that will get stock, then these people will get or already got their iMac earlier than others that may have ordered before them. Just a theory but if you think about it, it may make sense.

I've been waiting for the new iMac one year... A year followig this forum, reading absurd rumors etc... But finally TODAY I got it! Yesssssss

No it's delivered to UPS. You will get a tracking number shortly

How is everyone tracking their order? When I click track shipment I don't get any times or dates of when everything happens. I tried going on the UPS website and tracking it there, but it didn't recognise any of the numbers on the order page. I'm in the UK and the expected date for arrival at my door is the 29th.

I have the exact same days/times/info as yours, Our iMacs are definitely on the same shipment :)

For me, Next stop: Sweden!

I received an email from apple on 22nd saying it had shipped, it had a delivery no. on it, if you put that number into expeditors.com it gives you the details.

HTH :)

That's the thing, I didn't receive any delivery number. But I think it's because I ordered a thunderbolt cable with my iMac so it has to merge before I get the tracking number.

Am I right?
