Got on the tram in Nottingham early last week and noticed the young woman opposite me had an iPhone.

Headphones give it away every time.

im assuming then that the touch doesnt come with the ace control on the right earphone wire like the iphone?

I've seen 2 people on the train using one. I've noticed that more and more people seem to have macs on the train too since I've been pulling mine out in the mornings to get work done.

Theres one person who has this mini Sony laptop, think it must be a 10 or 11" screen. its tiny! looks horrible though =/

Yep, I actually got to see one before it came out, I was in John Lewis in Bluewater and I got my iPod Touch out so this guy got out with unlocked iPhone and showed it to me, and I showed him my iPod Touch with all the iPhone apps and stuff on it and he was impressed (im only 13 :D), also I saw a policeman using one.

Apart from me and my mate sat in Starbucks in Bristol city centre the other day :D I haven't seen any other iPhones in the wild, in Bristol or in Essex. But then again I don't like whipping it out unless it's necessary, in case it gets swipped. Sad I know but you can't be too carefull these days,

haha, after re-reading my post I guess I should make clear that I have my Macbook with me on the train =)

And people with their iPhones are watching videos/or music... I'm guessing videos though because they are sideways and they're usually smiling

Seen two people besides myself here at college using one, but i see lots of people walking around with the earphones with the microphone in them, so i suspect that they have an iPhone. So total, i've probably seen about 10-15 of them at school.

Woops, don't live in the UK

A girl in my seminar group at Uni has one.

Also, there was a man standing next to me at the Marilyn Manson show in Birmingham trying to take a picture with his. Yeah, that's going to come out well.

My boss just got one and she's bringing it to work for me to have a play with.

She's not really a big gadget fan, but she does like Apple stuff (has a G5 iMac at home)... just advised her to wait 'til after MacWorld SF before she spends any more cash - next up is a laptop!

One in the train (the guy sitting in front of me) going to Birmingham's memorabilia show. I had mine at the time so we both smiled. Then saw two more inside the NEC centre at the show -- I guess Horror/genre fans like to touch... something.

I was at a U.N conference in Nairobi, Kenya a couple of weeks ago. Saw 4 unlocked iPhones including mine. Supercool!
I had repeated requests to sell mine... No way!

two guys in my work have bought them for their sons for xmas, and there paying the contract for them lucky gits:D:D:D:D

I've only seen one out and about (other than my own and my wifes), and that was yesterday, here in Edinburgh. Around, 6pm, and it made me very aware just how much those things light up on the street. May as well have held a large sign saying "MUG ME". I, for sure, will not use mine on a dark street.

I've seen a few out and about, oddly I noticed that the local O2 store no longer has any display models out. Carphone Warehouse still has a display a couple of doors down though, and I noticed that their display unit have always been working whereas the O2 stores often were stuck on black screens with a whit Apple logo. I'm guessing the staff in O2 are so clueless they couldn't keep them working and the display got pulled so people didn't just see knackered units.

Is it just me that thinks it's terrible sad that so many people talk about how they afraid to use their phones in public? Maybe I'm naive, but I couldn't bear walking around in such a constant state of fear.

None for me

I've not seen anyone using one, which is a bit of a surprise. I obviously don't mix with the right people!

a guy in the same uni building has one, and apparently another guy has one as well according to a tutor! i just wish he would turn the keypad clicker off though it drives me mad when im in the same room as him!

a guy who bumped into me at Waterloo tube station last night had one. i laughed cause initially he said sorry, then i tapped him on the shoulder after noticing the mic, he took his earphones out and i just showed him my mic.

we laughed.

thats the only other one i have seen.

yap a chinese/japanese lad had one he was lookin like this :D then went straight to  and he was punching the screen basically
haha
cant wait to get mine on the 22nd wooo :D

I saw one in a restaurant last night - the guy next to me had one and was showing the waiter - thats why he took so long to serve us!!! Should have showed him mine and tempted him over.....

(im talking about the iPhone by the way) lol
