So I got my case today and the MagSafe charger. It automatically finds the sweet spot on the case very easily as you drop it onto it.

Did you end up going for ReBuy in the end ? Did you get more compared to the other sites?
I’ve delayed my pick up until Wednesday as I don’t want to be without a phone for too long!
I manage to lock in £732 for mine which is now like £500 everywhere else

Find it a bit suspect that after 2-3 days (think they went on sale Sat with AO ?) they’ve still got launch day stock in all variants (?). Wonder if anyone who has ordered on here as got definite confirmation that delivery will be Friday ?

My main worry with them is how “helpful” they’ll be if there’s a small defect on the phone even though distance selling regs will mean you can return without giving a reason within 14 days...my brother had a nightmare with John Lewis to get a new iPhone Pro last year after the one he got had a scratch on it straight out of the box (he eventually did). The peace of mind from getting it from Apple is you won’t hopefully experience that.

How hard is it to detach / separate?

If you pick the phone up the MagSafe comes with it, so either pull it off or hold a finger on the cable as you lift the case off works. Not sure if it will hold even harder when the phone is in the case also.

Interesting that he/she joined at 11:30 and then fired off numerous troll posts all of which contained an expletive using asterisks.

I’d like to see more of the banter.
Not to the extent of Reddit level tho.

TBH, I am quite peaceful reading in MR rather than Reddit. It is very organised as thread are in location/provider related and feeding me the relevant info.

Used to follow PS5 Pre-order thread in Reddit and I and the rest felt left out apart from US Target store customers and there is no proper moderation there as well. It is like whoever can shout loudest will have attention.

In this thread, people are quite helpful and very civil

Ok, so regarding EE - I know there have been numerous posts over the past 10 pages or so from people saying they have managed to get deals from £16 - £20 a month for 100GB/200GB and even unlimited GB but I was initially switched from my sim only £22 a month 4G with 20GB to just £18 a month with 20gb, which was still pretty naff......

Just been speaking to Live Chat and they have now offered me £20 a month 5G with 100GB (still not as good as some but hey ho!) - they wouldn't budge on this so I guess its one better than what I was on before!!!
Did they indicate what the discount was for? i.e loyalty? Its always worth having a look at your bill to see how they broke down the price to get an indication how the discount was applied. I used that as an argument with them on chat that there was still room for a further 'loyalty' discount to be applied. They said no, so i asked for my PAC and magically they found a way to apply a further discount

This, even with my local Apple Reseller.

Who remembers the 2015 MacBook pro screen coating peeling off? Both Apple and Stormfront passed the buck to each other over who was responsible for the payments. All well and good until they are 40 miles apart! In the end, Stormfront refused to pay, essentially the Stormfront warranty is not worth the paper it is written on.

It was not my computer, but when they tried to make up pieces of law to my father, pretending to be in a position of knowledge to make the coating peel his fault, I washed my hands of them. I quoted their own terms over the phone and they were still holding onto no liability.

Generally, if you pretend to be from the legal department to get rid of a customer and makeup regs to cause seniors to pay more, they have a name for that practise!

...is the silicone slippery ? How much grip is there? I don't normally go for Apple's silicone cases as I find they get very slippery and tend to attract loads of lint when placed in denim jeans pockets.

Feels slightly silky feel, but so did my 11 case when it was new, it seemed to loose that feel and feels good in the hand, so I think this case will act the same way.

Even if you are charged and the item is despatched, I seem to recall a retailer can recall it if a genuine error has been made?

Once you are invoiced at shipping this is final, you have paid the invoice. The same regulations prevent retailers from selling you a £5 Tshirt, and a year later stating that you should have paid £150. To take it further would be court action and no retailer would take you to court over £200.

Edit: I have never practised so am open to hearing stories to the contrary!

I asked a question on here a few days ago about what happens if order phone on Barclays finance WITH a trade in (which reduces monthly payment), but subsequently decide NOT to trade in. Th general response was that Apple would charge your credit card for the trade in amount, but payments would stay at reduced amount.

I just did an online chat with Apple and the representative said different, and that the finance payments would increase, if the trade in was cancelled. If this is true then have to assume Barclays approve credit based on full cost of handset rather than net of trade in value.

Has anyone done this when ordering their phone and can confirm what information they were given in the confirmation/terms as to what happens if they don't send in the trade in device??

Thanks

My invoice form them says the cost of the phone (price less trade in) is secured by Barclays Finance and the trade in is £80 (iphone7) secured by my debit card. So basically if I don't return my phone they will take £80 off my card and the payments stay the same. The finance is only approved for in my case £1118.00 which is iPhone Pro 128GB + AppleCare minus the trade in. They will take the £80 off my card if i don't return the phone and the payments will stay the same.

Been with EE for about 4 years now, didn't want to leave, requested PAC, they still didn't want to budge. Rang them finally today and I went on the 'full works' SIM normally £41 but he applied a £5/month loyalty discount so £36. That gives unlimited 5g data, calls and texts, BT Sports Ultimate and 3 smart benefits. Using them for Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Arcade for now. I was paying £10/mth for Music, £15 for BT sports large screen and Apple TV just coming to the payment time. All in all quite a good deal if you look at it that £36 includes £30 roughly of stuff I was paying for in addition to my previous £26/mth contract.

Thanks - that makes sense then with what others have said. Would be nice if Apple Store support actually knew what they were talking about!!!
