Other UK iPhone 12/12 Pro/12 Pro Max (2020) Orders and Dispatch Thread

Just looking back at the amazon order I have. I see the pro is no longer available BUT there are plenty of 12's at the right price. The interesting thing is though that all of these seem to be coming from the apple store (on amazon). If its a store-front for apple we may get lucky. Apple have been great with mis-prices in the past. I got over a £200 discount on my 11 Pro Max last year due to a glitch on the store when making my order. When I picked up they just said 'oh you had one of those orders' and explained they had messed up and were honoring the price. I never even asked as I just presumed it would be corrected in store.

Maybe its just a pipe dream but there could be hope yet.

Great so I could say that I paid up instead and start new IUP (as you would ha don’t it in anyway).

If handing in 11 back, they do all the cancelling though of current Barclays. That’s what they did last year anyway.

True, I was going to go for graphite but every phone I get is always a variation of black or grey, a pacific blue case with a plum silicone case is gonna be perfect :D

So I was speaking to cs just wondering what was happening to my order (Vodafone) and the man thought I meant cancel my order for some reason and cancelled my order so I said to him don't do that and the chat on his end cut short. Annoyed to say the least

Yeah if you hand back they will close of your old IUP for you.

All you need to do is just say your starting a new plan. You could have as many (as the credit checks let) IUP plans running as you like
 
I’m really not sure how I feel about the mirror-style stainless steel band if that leaked unboxing video is correct. It’s a bit too blingy for my tastes... I hope it’s just the lighting, or that the video is fake.

It’s going to be a long wait until reviews drop at 11AM tomorrow (UK time).

It's definitely mirror-style.

AO.com still have stock and you can apply for finance which potentially is interest free?

I mean, even in the old iPods you couldn’t see your face in the reflection of it so I hope it’s not like that IRL. I can’t recall a single product which has a mirror finish like that by Apple or anyone for that matter. Seems a really odd design choice.

Makes me think of cheap, knock-off jewellery (and even that tacky reflective plastic stuff you can get) for some reason.

It is probably correct. Sim tray being on left side. I am also not a big fan of shiny stuff but not much choice as pro only avail for stainless steel.

just literally cancelled my preorder with them, decided i will go sim only on voxi or something else since the data prices for vodafone (even with a discount) are way too high. i am just going to try find the best sim only cost now. Now i need to find stock for a pro somewhere on release day or shortly after, but kind of feel relieved im not doing the wrong thing and going for the weaker phone

I am. I’m already paying for music and 2TB storage so this makes a lot of sense for my situation. Plus I’m not going to the gym so this will be a decent enough substitute

I really hope they look better than that video shows, or it could well be that the main iPhone 12 is actually a nicer looking phone than the Pro (at least for me). Which would be a massive own goal on Apple’s part, and deeply frustrating as a user.

If they really went for high-shine, mirror sides I’ll be turned off. Would have been much nicer to use brushed stainless steel. I‘ve never returned an Apple product in my life but would strongly consider returning in exchange for a standard 12.

The shiny, mirror band to me screams tacky ’bling’ and actually looks quite cheap to my eyes.

(I always go caseless with my phones and have never used a case, so this matters for me!)

Thing is I've bought several things from them before and once I had an issue where an item was *cough* damaged *cough* and they replaced it no questions asked apart from can we see a photo. So I'm a big fan and hence why I keep going on about them lol

Mirror-finish will give a huge headache on scratches. Even on silver brushed stainless-steel, we could spot on scratches easily.
Now my decision to go naked is down the drain

I’m not convinced they will do a student package.
I’m signing up to the top level anyway. I pay for family music, news+, arcade and 200gb iCloud. Which is over £30 a month as is and once the TV+ trial finishes I’d probably consider paying for it.
So to me the £30 plan is definitely something I’d want as it saves money and stops all these differing payment dates I have at the moment.
