So am I the only one not interested in the MagSafe chargers? I’ve used wireless chargers since the 8 and have woken up to an uncharged phone once. And that was because I had a migraine and just threw the phone in the general direction of the charger on my way to bed.

The thing I find annoying about the Apple Watch charger is that it sticks to the watch when I lift it up.
I’ve not used a wireless charger for my phone before as it seems like a lot of hassle lining it up etc when you’re most likely half asleep.. but recently got an Apple Watch and I personally love the charger - yes it gets stuck to it, but I’ve got used to just using a finger to slide it off. Admittedly may be harder with the phone being bigger, but we’ll see.. I’ll get the MagSafe duo if it’s not too expensive!

Whilst I was doing uni stuff my desk took over the area by my bed, which is why my charger is there. Now I finished uni last month maybe the length of the MagSafe cable will encourage me to swap the desk back to a bed side table.
Don’t get me started on that subject 😂
I took over the dining room table for uni stuff at the beginning of lockdown, I ended up building a desk in the bedroom over the summer break to get my family back to sitting at a table for dinner again.

Me. Although have to admit I’m getting more interested (damn you Apple!). I use a Nomad charger and as you say, I always wake up to a fully charged iPhone. How hard is it to place on a wireless charger? Do Apple think you place your iPhone on it’s charger in the middle of the night in pitch darkness?

At what point does Apples 14 day return policy start?

Planning on (unless I do like it) returning my silicone case ive ordered as I wanted a leather, within the 14 day window and then getting a leather.

Is it from the day the item is marked as delivered in my apple account (which should be Wednesday) or from day of order?

Im assuming Wednesday but if it were to be delayed etc..

14 days from date of delivery to notify them you wish to cancel then another 14 days from date of notification to return/arrange collection.

Oh this changes everything.. I thought I would have to return it within 14 days of delivery meaning id have a few days gap between having to give the silicone case back and waiting for the leather case to be released..

So I can notify them I want to return the silicone case say 5 days after I get it, and then I have a further 14 days from then to return it?

Edit: So you can! Just found the returns info on the Apple site, so I can indicate I would like to return the case a few days after I get it, at a time which will take the 14 days after the 6th of November when the leather case is released and then return it in store and pick up a leather case the same day. Great! :D Its the simple things.

I’m with you here. I’ve got a great bedside clock with integrated wireless charger (and it also projects the time onto the ceiling). My phone is cradled and charged overnight and I’ve not got to worry about knocking it off the pad.

I’ll leave all the fuss over the MagSafe stuff to the youngsters

Was thinking of starting fresh this year with a clean install but this is going to erase my exposure checks. I suppose it’s something to bear in mind (for those using the NHS app)
I'm going for a fresh install because I feel like restoring from backup will bring firmware/sys files that will affect battery drain. Hopefully I can transition my apple watch smoothly as well during the setup process

Yes because god forbid..

'the government will have all my data!!!! (even though I already have Facebook, twitter, instagram, a phone contract, an email etc etc...but the NHS app will tell them I went to the pub!!o_O'

Lets all take the tin foil hats off before this silly debate even gets started.

lol yeah. NHSX are such world beaters, they even think they're better than the folks that build the phones/OS etc.

Seriously? If you’re that paranoid about being tracked then I wouldn’t even have a smartphone.

I agree with the guy. Wouldn’t trust the NHS app in the slightest. Not because I think they will track me (they have other means to do that) but because I think the app will probably falsely report a reason to isolate.

The police can already access the track and trace data so could check your phone location too if needed / requested (last cell tower pinged etc - don’t even need GPS)

sorry, not really iPhone related but I saw a few posts about it.

Just remember to unpair Apple Watch before clearing old iPhone otherwise you will need to factory reset the watch. I have forgotten in multiple occasions now.
Interesting because I spoke to an Apple specialist about this and they explained that during the setup process after you sign in with your apple ID apparently your new phone should ask you do you want to bring your apple watch over and if you tap yes its supposed to unpair from your old phone and connect to your new phone automatically. Not sure how well its going to work but it sounds smooth as

Last time I did a setup as new (last year) I had to set up the watch as new as well. At that time you could only restore the watch from a backup if you also restored the phone (the watch backup was contained inside the phone backup, basically).

[edit] this link seems to suggest this is still the case.

The police have access to the NHS test and trace data. So people who have been contacted and told to isolate. Not data from the app.

Called O2 and was offered 100GB for £15 (one year SIMO contract), O2 is better in my area than EE, so I think that’s great. Will speak to EE to see if they’ll match.

Oh I have never seen this 🤷🏼‍♂️ Tbf I normally clear my old phone in preparation of the delivery slot so it’s can be changed to my work phone, so I have never given it the opportunity to show this.

This may be a new ios14/watch os7 feature I'm not sure, would be nice if I dont have to unpair and erase but time will tell!

Hey guys, so I currently have an ESim with Ee. When my new phone arrives in a few weeks, will I need to request a new ESim? Do they expire after a certain amount of time if they're not activated? Like if I ordered one on October 26th and the phone doesn't arrive until November 9th, will that be ok?
