How does one receive a shipping notifivation from DHL? I've not received anything yet, do I need to register or have the app or something?

I got a text message. I've got my DHL account set up to notify me if they receive anything being shipped to me.

Nah I'm betting they won't be allowing this. Passing a box from and back to a customer can be considered a transmission risk. Not everyone who purchases this service has just picked up their device from the apple store.
