Silver announced! May not have needed to pay premium either as DPD delivered 4 parcels early doors here. Never happens like that!

After my missed delivery yesterday, DPD delivering today between 1-2pm which is perfect for me to go home and intercept it - as no-one is home!

I’ve got a new sim card from Vodafone which I have put into the new phone but not sure whether it’s an eSim or not if I’m honest?
If you have an actual card to physically insert inside the phone on the little SIM tray, then it's not an eSIM.

I’ll have a try later. sounds like quite a few sets might need updates. Not a surprise to see Apple use formats that aren’t widely supported. Often puts me off using them and hten I forget they’re there. I still avoid HEIF / HEVC because when they first started (iphone X?) they woudln’t work on windows transparently. Still not sure if its completely safe to enable them. I’d like to capture in the best quality for posterity but not at the expense of being able to play anywhere (and share with family who can do the same)

semi related question - does the youtube app support HDR on the 12/pro? was checking yesterday and couldn’t notice it changing the screen or the option popping up in the videos

Just seen there is a whole thread on it on MR. Seems Apple has gone with some sort of format that none of the TVs support. Lots of people have tried on LG C8, C8, C9 and X and nobody has been able to get it to work via Airplay or via ATV. Apple might need to release a fw update or something.

Picked up my Pacific Blue yesterday afternoon from Bluewater. Order scanned and in my hands within 3 minutes. Such a great collection service.

Didn’t go into the store as wanted first impressions to come from opening the box. Loving it, the shape and colour, it just feels such a real premium product 😁

well my amazon delivery has been delayed further from today to 6 november and now it says i should get it between 13 november to the december 16 according to my account and email.

I can see amazon now not honouring these as time passes and wouldn't be surpised to see it cancelled by them quietly at some point.
Just go on Apple. There’s loads of slots available this weekend. Just had to cancel my order from Argos & picking mine up this afternoon from Apple.

Managed to get a blue iPhone 12 128gb yesterday after a horrible experience with Three. Lied about my delivery date and pushed it until 14th Nov, I then requested to have my upgrade cancelled which they said they’d done and they I could go to a store to do it there. Drove 40 miles to do this only to find they hadn’t touched my upgrade and the store couldn’t do anything.
Went online and ordered with EE using my 20% blue light discount at 1600, iPhone was delivered at 1830 the same evening! Incredible service, safe to say I’ve already given EE any pac code!

I did yes 😂 I had the Ying of you telling me to do the smart financial thing and the yang of @Dog182 telling me I need it 😂

It was tricky but here we are! It is very white as other reviewers have said.
😂😂 I don’t usually advocate for financial sense.
I’m the crazy idiot with an XR that’s less than 6 months old and still picked up a 12 Pro!

I'm going to leave it for the time being see if any updates happen i've taken a screenshot of the order but any CS can cancel an order so i'm just leaving it for the time being.

They have probably fulfilled the majority of the orders now got the goodwill from customers maybe even afew headlines in the media then the reamaining orders quietly cancelled in afew weeks times.

In my experience of Amazon, and I've been a Prime member for a long time, they honour all orders even if an initial delay due to no stock. They've never cancelled on any order I've made with them unless I wanted it cancelled.

Personally, I would a actually call up directly and talk to a CS representative to find out the current situation and try and get a firm date when you can expect to receive your order. They're red hot on keeping customers happy, Prime or not.

Apple would not definitely not honour those mis-prices for anyone but, likewise, they wouldn't mis-price like Amazon did on pre-order day.

Also, only a small handful of other businesses would actually do what Amazon have done to not only honour the mis-prices for everyone but not either demand full payment or cancel orders from customers. We are not talking a few quid, these are £1K phones. It's great it's actually happened for the Amazon pre-order crew.

They would rather keep those customers happy, take an initial small financial hit on pre-orders but gain existing customer & media kudos, especially with Black Friday coming.

Amazon will sort you out, I'm sure of it.
