Does the Apple Store app usually crash on launch days?

Have two separate orders on two separate phones to do here just wondering what the experience will be like šŸ™ƒ

Be quick - get in and order because once the store is open - it'll crash due to high demand. (Speaking from experience from last pre order.)

Never have any luck when it's like that. Pages loading slow and then out of stock from the last time I tried to get in early!

just clicked on app and said start a return
Brilliant, thanks. Doing it today myself.

Incidentally did you actually buy your iPhone in store or did you just pick up an online order? The reason I ask is that if you bought it in store I would have expected you to be given an extended return period to cover lockdown as that is what happened (in the US at least) during the first lockdown. Perhaps Apple decided that this cost them too much.

EDIT: I see now that some Apple stores (including Trafford Centre) are open for returns in addition to Click and Collect).

They happily pushed my collection back until the 14th when it was meant to be yesterday and didn't say anything

I tried to call them today to extend my pickup but they no longer answer their phone as their employees are working from home. I had to send a message on their web site and hopefully will get a response soon.

Hope everyone is excited & ready for tomorrow! Planning on pre-ordering with Curry's (I know they can be slow but I've got an existing credit limit with them), did anyone pre-order their 12 or 12P using their flexible credit? Was the process fairly straightforward?

I'm ordering from Currys too. Got a discounted voucher through a scheme at work. Just hope I can get hold of the phone as I'm stuck with this voucher now!

Just had that email through, curious as to what options they are offering. Who’s going to phone up and see what the crack is?

I take it as read that whatever the options are they won’t include anything like a traditional iUP path.

Will probably just say you can jump on iPhone payments instead.

Just to check I've got this all correct:

11 Pro max bought on IUP last October.
I owe Barclays around £500 for it still.

If I give up on upgrading this year (not like I'm going outside anyway!) and wait for next October:

I'll have paid off the IUP and own the phoner outright (to sell as I please)?
Next October, I sign-up for a new IUP for whatever the new phone is then?
Can I trade in my 11 next year to Apple or do I need to go through a 3rd party?
Anything else to be aware of?

My husband got the same e-mail. I was waiting until tomorrow for the Max pre-order using IUP...doesn't look like it's happening. I think that whole "call this number to find out what your options are" is BS and they'll just point you towards the trade-in program. The lack of flexibility is shocking

Well, I guess that's it then.
On the upgrade programme with a 11 Pro Max so have just got £607 from EE recycle for it and will pay off my upgrade programme with Barclays.
Have just pre-approved for a standard 24 month 12 Max Pro on the Apple app.
I seem to remember there's a way to get reimbursed for some part of the upgrade programme AppleCare?

Yes.

Yes (could be September!)

Yes, although I’m not entirely sure if it’s as a credit to the loan or a gift card.

You can trade to apple if you want but their trade in prices are not very good - you would be better off selling privately or to a website like rebuy etc

Everything else you wrote is accurate.

I had to use the web chat but they take a very long time to respond to each message it was more like an email conversation than live chat

Played with the new ones in John Lewis yesterday.

The design is gorgeous, but having spent a few months with an S20 - the only thing I could notice was the 60hz display.

I think the 60hz display is one of those things once you’ve seen better, you can’t ā€œunseeā€ it...
A bit like retina and non-retina back in the day.

Quite good deal.
EE do £25 200GB 5G with a swappable benefit. So Apple Music which is £9.99 is included. Or various other benefits that can be chosen from.

Does anyone have any loyalty codes or anything that can be used with EE?
happy to help if your still looking for one send me a pvt message i can create a student beans code if thats any use.

my fold 2 blows the iphone out of the water screen wise and i'm getting used to the smaller form factor coming from a xs max.

Next year would have been the year i upgrade but grabbed the amazon bargain earlier this month was a no brainer.
