Everyone chill out with the payment thing.

Basically when the orders go live the Apple store goes into a limited mode. You can’t see your previous orders or make changes to orders. I assume this is to make the store more reliable for the spike in demand.

However this year the orders have been changing to preparing for shipment far earlier - which means your card gets charged. Days pass before this happens on normal years. Cards getting charged = cards getting declined.

However, they are charging cards before the store is back to full functionality.

So wait for the store to come fully live and then it will say you need to update payment info and you can do that without calling.

The plus side of this system is that it means you can get your payment declined but still have your place in line, so long as you get it sorted in a day or so.

Which is why we like Apple.

One of my orders had the payment issue. One click to retry payment - done. No delay to delivery. No waiting on hold for hours.

Even though the pics are wrong on Amazon they aren’t on the confirmation email from Amazon. Now to cancel my Apple order, whenever that’s possible.View attachment 1457196

I’ve done the same but am scared to cancel the Apple order in case it cancels the 12 Pro Max as well!!!

Mine went straight from this to preparing to ship a few minutes ago. Don’t think the on hold thing is an issue

Woohoo! App updated and so I could get through to a page where I could update my failed payment and that looks to have gone through and it now says delivery on the 13th 🤩

I cant see my order on Apple store that i placed today. Only past orders. Does that mean it did not go through?

That's why I'm on hold at the moment too. I don't want the order date to slip.

If you haven’t got through yet, try and have a look at the order in the app again. I’ve been able to update my payment details that way now.

Mine has just gone to preparing to ship now too. I guess I can give up on the hold although I can't deny rather liking the Apple hold music!

Yer man is correct. Store back up, I just used a different card.

Have to say that was badly managed - unusual for apple. It was 2 hours on hold I'll never get back (which I never got answered, properly)

Ah well just time for a pint.

finally an update to my order. It’s now processing. However I won’t receive it until the 18th November. Everything was confirmed by 13:17pm on my end, 17 minutes has meant an extra 5 days delivery time, is that right? Did they sell that quickly?! At least I’m processing...
