I got the full £1371 payment for the two iPhones. Neither had screen protectors or cases and had the odd little scratch so happy days!

I ordered the iPad mini yesterday. It said for Friday delivery but the second I placed the order I got an email saying estimated delivery Monday so beware….they’ll tell you anything to get your money.

Yep. The website said Friday. Ordered. Email said next WEDNESDAY! I’m bloody livid 😂

Yeh I reckon so.
Although read the small print - to claim for loss or theft you are only covered if 'Find My' was active and working. You need to be able to erase and block the handset remotely before they will process any replacement. There is also a £100-odd excess to pay for any loss/theft claim.
For damage there is also an excess - cant remember the exact amounts off the top of my head though.......

so if the device is never on, after being stolen. No replacement iPhone?

Hello - very exciting to see all the posts which are moving to 'shipped' I won't be getting mine tomorrow (still showing as 4th - 11th October - sob - first time without a launch day upgrade 😱).

Would love to get hold of a phone tomorrow if I can - is it better to check online rather than just popping into store? Does anyone know if I try for a 'pickup option' as check availability from 24/09) what time I should log on - will this magically change at midnight or should I check at a particular time?

Just got my email from Very to say my phone is on it's way and will be delivered by Royal Mail!

Nothing from Very yet but still says delivery on or before the 24th!

Commiserations to those who have selected in-store pick up. I know how depressing today can be as everyone sees their tracking update and all you get is to wait till the early evening for your ‘ready to pick up’.

For anybody looking to kill some time until tomorrow, I can heartily recommend the Land of the Giants podcast.

It's a highly produced technology podcast that focuses on a particular company with each series: Amazon, Netflix, Google already covered.

Apple is the focus with the latest series, and they go into the birth and announcement of the iPhone for episode 1. Interview segments with some of the original team, plus Nilay Patel from the Verge and Leander Kaney from Cult of Mac.

that's the best part.. I usually do an 8am collection but this is the first year in about 5 I've not bothered.

pretty sure it's only for Saturdays not same-day, but I'm not 100%. I've only had things sent overnight for JL / Waitrose click-and-collect which is very reliable.

EDIT: JL by far the best option tomorrow if you've missed out on Apple.com and don't live within range of multiple Apple stores. I think I've used them twice now, last year I got "the right run around" off Argos pretending they had stock until the last minute so got onto JL at 0800 on the Friday. The previous time was similar with Very - both now on the **** list.
