yes. Set up as new, do the software update and then restore

Yes but it's a Day 0 build, so you'll have to download a small update (I think around 300mb instead of the 2.5GB) to get the current iOS 15 build

I thought as much, I have held off going to iOS15.1 until I get the 13 here.

I never really got on with the Apple clear case last year (particularly stiff buttons), did anyone who used it last year get it again, and if so, is it any better?

As long as it shows the magnets, it’s a non-starter. Ugliest case around.

I really like them! I mostly used Apple Silicone cases throughout the past year with the 12 Pro Max. I'm a bit of a case fanatic and while I bought leather it never felt 'nice' plus the natural aging (not patina) looked really bad for people and I rarely used the ones I bought... also as leather is absorbant it never I was more fearful it would pick up grease.

I also have a preference for 'proper' magsafe over 'magsafe compaitble' the otterbox magsafe were 'official' but I didn't feel the magnets were right and I still haven't established if they have the orientation magnet for things like the wallet.

So after buying near enough 15 cases over the past year I always came back to Apple Silicone with the seasonal colours giving me a change.

Lighter colours are better for resisting fingerprints and I've never found lint to be a problem, it may pick up a bit when you first get one, but it's never been an issue after a day or two. Unless you have a constant stream of new clothes I'm not sure how anyone generates an amount of lint that is problematic on a daily basis!

Oh, and I think grippyness is ideal, could be problematic if you like skinny jeans but in and out of pockets I've been happy, I do like the feel in-hand.

Not sure why I got this iPhone. I don’t see any improvements, apart from some Android design fat camera added to the back and a very very heavy iPhone. Apple messed this one imo. Ive would never allow this.

I'm going with screen protectors straight out of the box - not used any before - keep washing my hands then they get clammy again... might have to crack out all those disposable gloves I bought (and didn't get through) at the beginning of the pandemic, gonna feel like a surgeon slicing though the sellotape on the outer box 🤣
