it's simpler, but not that much simpler? I have used an esim since middle of last year, works well, and very easy to set up. EE will send you an email, or if you use a computer, will display a QR code, and then once you utilise either, it'll ask you what to name the line (gives you templated choices) and then if you want to share the data, and that's it. Later, if you go into mobile settings, you can choose which to have on, or turn one off, which lines you use to call certain numbers, it's customisation is awesome. I've travelled, and worked in 3 countries, and kept my home account as an esim and it's been seamless.
Depends on the network for the migration from phone to another.

I'm currently with O2 (shortly leaving to re-join EE) and they require that I have a new printed eSIM pack to do the migration. EE didn't immediately adopt the eSIM migration tools that Apple provides because a number of us tried several years ago.

I still stand by that unless you require the use of 2x SIMs, stick with a single physical SIM card. Especially as Daz above has said he swaps between two different phones on occasion. His biggest hurdle with a physical SIM will be whether he has a paperclip or SIM eject tool on him!

My wife has an upgrade. Would love to get her the 14 pro, but it will be cost too much, especially out of the gate and with the rumoured price increase.
We finally pulled the trigger on a 13pro on a great deal of £42 a month on ID... and they now tell us they dont have stock for a month:mad:

If we trade in her 11 in the Apple store, does anyone know if they knock the price down for screen scratches? The rest of the phone is mint and the screen is not cracked.

Hi everyone,

I've just started the process to sell my iPhone 13 PM with Music Magpie.
Does anyone know how long they 'lock in' the offer for the phone?
With the 14PM not released for another couple of weeks I don't want to send the phone off then be given a reduced offer as it's been recieved late.

Best thing to do is start the process and save the order for later in your account. That saves for upto 14 days and then when you are ready you can add to basket and checkout which then gives you a further period/ 21 days to send the phone.

That’s what I’m doing, will check out next week after the event and when the pre order is secured!

iPhone 13 Pro 256 on contract via EE cost me £1,090.40 (including price increase and early upgrade fee). Sold mine to MM for £735.00.
£355.40 for a year or £29.61 per month works for me.

£530 is the early upgrade fee today. After paying that ill be pocketing £205.00 which most likely will be enough to get few cases and a magsafe wallet.

What contract were you on if you don’t mind me asking? Did you phone EE to get your settlement price?

Hi Folks,
Quick question , how long do i have to send my phone to MM , i locked in on the 26/08/2022 for £505.00, i have just had a replacement iphone 12 pro from apple in the last month to replace my defective one, so keeping my options open.

21 days including 26.08.22 for them to receive, process and pay.

Nice. I’m on the full works and considering the buyout given ees lovely penchant for cpi+3.9% is going to negate the discount I have on the contract.

Just need to figure out the buyout cost

I was on the 20% student last year. Made it worth it. But with the 11% increase last year (or whatever it was) and likely 15%+ this year. It’s no longer worth it.

Buy out. Take some cash hit. And get interest free Barclays and a sim only

Posted my 13 PM 128GB off to MM this morning, wanted to get it away as early as possible with all the Royal Mail strikes... Hopefully moves down swiftly from Aberdeen

Another Aberdonian. Fingers crossed for you with the current delays. Still waiting on parcels and mail from last week here

I get 30% off hence i stick with EE contracts.

Im going for a standard plan with 100GB this time around as I already have all the Subs benefits separately

EE sell upgrades on 0% device finance if you call, which if you're with EE now, may be easier and you only get the CPI+ increase on the airtime agreement.

I haven’t upgraded my sim only plans in about 3 years now, 20% and £5 loyalty applied. I don’t wanna lose the EU roaming is main reason since they charge on upgrading. Currently have a 100GB and a 5GB data plan for my iPP

shame about ID mobile delays!

Apple trade-in will be one of the lowest offers out there so worth shopping around and comparing. It's hard to say what impact the screen scratches will have on the value but take a look at the online trade in pages (https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/trade-in).
apple only seem to ask if the phone is on 'good' condition or not... good being:

  • It turns on and functions normally
  • All the buttons work
  • The cameras work and all lenses are free of damage
  • The body is free of dents and scratches
  • The touchscreen and back glass are undamaged
  • The display is free from distortion, lines, and black or white spots.

if you then select no to 'are the touch screen and camera in good shape?' - yes would mean all of this:

Answer yes if all of the following apply.
  • The touchscreen is free of cracks, chips and scratches
  • The cameras work and all lenses are free of damage
  • The display is free from distortion, lines, and black or white spots.

what you get is a trade in value of £50 compared to a 'good' condition price of £180. Best thing is to take it in to Apple and let them see it!.

but as I said, better off not trading in with Apple and go with someone else. Music Magpie for example offer,

£260 for a good condition and £208 for poor. and there's a £20 voucher code to add too.

I don't think I've had a phone on contract since the iPhone 4!

paying £28 for sim only EE including the £5 for BT sport large screen. that's 200GB/m.

given I'm paying Barclays ~£44 (when AC+ taken out) - I'm sure there are EE tariffs out there that would beat the £72/m I currently spend?!

EE are increasing tariffs by 11%?

EE are increasing tariffs by 11%?
Most networks increase your tariff by CPI + 3.9% every year. Last year CPI was 5.4% in Dec, so EE increased plans by 9.3% this year. The Dec CPI rate is likely to be around 15%, so next years increase is going to be around 19/20%

The annual CPI increase in January was about 11% if memory serves. This year with inflation so high I can only imagine it’ll be min 15% in January 23
But it only comes into effect on 1st April. For me at 30% off still makes it cost effective to get EE iphone contract as ill be upgrading again in Sep 2023. Plus discount is applied in full to increased monthly figure so still better off.

Though it all depends on the EE prices for new iphones. As per usual they have jacked up prices for old iPhones just like they always do every year.
