I’m looking forward to coming in here on Friday and just seeing absolute carnage with peoples delivery times/delays and complaints in all honesty.

I’ve got backup orders on backup orders just in case from various retailers 😅

I have consumed so much iPhone 14 Pro hands-on videos since september 7. Now that the phone is no longer a novelty and the sheen of Dynamic Island has worn off, I cancelled my pre-order and saved myself a whole lot of money. This is a great method to save money every year, hehe.

Dino, confirmed? I’m just waiting for a “picked up my phone” post on Friday now.

Do agree if you’ve got an iPhone from the last couple of years it’s not worth it unless you need a bigger/smaller screen or increased storage capacity.

Me coming from an iPhone 7 however...😛

My pick up time is 1230, but I have an important meeting between 12-1230. If I recall correctly the clot is 15 mins? The Apple Store is 22 minutes walk or I can take the tube and be there in 5-10 mins.

Should I take the tube? Or shall I try to get out of the meeting as early as possible

They’re pretty flexible when it comes to picking up late, so you’ll be fine. Know they’re not a fan of anyone coming in earlier than their slot though, more than likely be sent away to come back later.

Don’t really get the USP of the Steam Deck. Thing is massive so not ultra portable really...sure it’ll come in handy if you’re going on holiday (or at work) but why would you want to play games instead there.

Saying that it’s a nice bit of tech but really would rather game on a console, gaming PC or if I really needed a portable, a gaming laptop or small handheld like the Switch.
I already have consoles and a gaming PC. It is for on the go gaming. I don't really like mobile games, so that will allow me to play the games that I play on my gaming PC on the go.

I remember being early once and told to return later; learned my lesson that day

I went a bit nest crazy when I bought my new place a few years ago. Have the nest wifi with 2 additional access points. Works reasonably well but went a bit pear shaped when setting up the sky q minis. The nest is pretty dumbed down, can’t even select your own channel… similar with sky the mesh sky q uses for the mini network, both clashed on the same channel and frequency. Luckily managed to find hidden settings on the sky to change it so things improved.

Was ready to go all in with 6E wifi and get https://www.netgear.com/uk/home/wifi/mesh/rbke963b/ but coming in at £1500 is painful!

Ironically spending that amount on a mobile phone is less of an issue
These were the ones I was aiming at when doign research but wallet landed on second(ish) best with the ZenWifi AX. Those Netgears are beast according to those who know better than me what they are talking about...
p.s. know what you mean about the decoupling of cash splash on a phone !!

I get that but it’s not really ultra portable. I struggled to get used to the size of it when I tried a friend’s.

Where do you use it normally out of interest? I can’t imagine playing on it on the tube for example. A flight I definitely would and probably an overground train but I wouldn’t use it enough probably to personally justify buying one.

I’m really considering switching the black for the purple, but I’m not sure.. and I’m on the 24 month financing thing…

Did the same with my Series 4 Apple Watch, thought I’d go to the store before work but was straight up refused, had to go back in on my lunch break. Why they couldn’t just give it to me there and then, first thing, even when the store wasn’t busy was beyond me.

The lack of Ethernet ports on the nest is annoying.

Also like the idea of a 6E with a dedicated backhaul. Have so many connected devices in the house now and the 1fb fibre needs a workout
