I am having doubts about the Silver colour now. I think Space Black would have been a better choice
Apple has struggled with the dark black finish for a while … I half expect to see reports of paint chipping in the next few days

Its a tough one. Might go with the Umber Leather case too so sometimes i feel doesn’t matter what colour I have, its gonna be in the case all the time unless i take it out to clean it.

But then again Space Black might be a special edition colour where they only have it this year and change it to another shade next year like they did with Pacific blue and sierra blue.

And i hope Umber matches with Silver.
 
I’ll be doing a device to device transfer this time round as I’m hoping it moves my EE eSIM across with it. Always done iCloud restores in the past, hoping I don’t run into any issues like previous years 🤞
I hate iCloud restore, I have to relogin my apps after the restore.

Device to device is so much better, no relogin of apps required.
 
I think I’m just going to do device to device transfer like I did last year. I decided to pick the 30th to send my 13 Pro Max to ReBuy so I have my current phone until then.

We were talking about transferring the eSIM. The EE app will re-issue the eSIM (or a physical SIM if selected).

Correct but will still achieve the same if the transfer doesn’t work.

The objective is getting an eSIM and service on new device. To me doesn’t matter how just as long as it shifts from one device to another.
 
Whilst MM are a legit company the frustration comes in the long unwarranted delays in their own delivery pipeline which, for some reason, they seem to make the customers responsibility. Nine days since posting the phone using their 48Hr Royal Mail delivery service and still no scan of it at the warehouse, even though it was marked as delivered 4 days ago. When I contacted them asking them to extend my 21 day Price Promise due to the fact there was a delay at their end they said it wasn’t possible, which seemed somewhat inflexible.

Once RM confirm delivered and have added it to the pallet that they send on to MM that should be where they say yep it’s been sent or even when it goes to the post office as they email at that point acknowledging you have sent it.

How well does device to device work? Is it a smooth process and how long does it take when you’ve used up over 100gb?

Have always used iCloud restore so am keen to try a way where I don’t have to log back in to EVERYTHING! Thanks
 
Is there a pros and cons for the various methods of transfer ie restore from Mac/PC backup, iCloud restore, device to device?

Just read now that iCloud means logging in to apps again, whereas device-to-device does not but both transfer the EE eSIM.

What about restore from a computer backup?

Speed of restore, ability to use the phone in the meantime etc.
 
I’m surprised my 3rd October delivery date hasn’t crept forward - Silver is one of the least popular colours (according to the poll here) so you would think there’s the possibility of getting it sooner 🧐
 
just got a text from Apple saying my order had shipped. Got excited. Nope, I’m dumb, it was a case that I’d ordered (on an old Apple ID that still had some cash in its account balance) and forgotten about. I win over optimistic idiot of the year. 😂
