It wasn't easy at all. It didn't transfer, I tried downloading a fresh eSIM and the just sat there with a spinning wheel - it really took some time to sort it out. Not good EE. It should have just transferred over - especially as the option was there and selected when I started moving the process.

Did it eventually download?

Just completed my set up. I used the phone to phone transfer method. It took 8 minutes and everything transferred over without issue. My watch even reboot after it paired with the iPhone 14 Pro. I love the Deep Purple.

I click on an app and click cloud for those I have already downloaded and it disappears then comes back. Can;t get anything

again, it might be worth just leaving it be plugged in for a while... probably doing a bunch of other stuff and indexing... poor fella, its his first day and all.

in previous years, didn't amazon dispatch phones on release day itself and arrive the following?

there's plenty of stock flying around, I can't imagine amazon have noting!

I pre-ordered last year on pre-order day. On launch day it estimated I would get the package sometime early October. The sunday after launch I got notification it would be delivered that day - and it was. So you could be right but it is strange they haven't even put any estimated dates on their orders this year.

Picked up the series 8 from the Apple Store this morning to replace my series 4. I think the upgrade will be worthwhile! Series 8 is on the left (graphite) and series 4 on the right (gold)

Actually, once it restored from backup it prompted me to add a new data plan and proceeded to transfer my eSim over. Seems to be working fine now.
