So, my phone arrived but then I had to do a mad dash to get it set up in some form before heading out. I’m home now and finally beginning to actually have some time with the phone and of course, log back into everything.

I have noticed already though that the battery seems to be draining quick? Maybe that’s just because of stuff going on in the background?

Welp Currys finally got in touch after I've been pestering their poor online chat advisors. They can't fulfil my Silver Pro pre-order. They're sending me out a Purple instead which I can keep or refuse as well as a £50 gift card 🤷‍♂️
Every.single.year.

If you want to maintain your battery keep it charged between 40 and 80 percent. On my 12 Pro I did this and still had 100% health after 18 months
I just charge it to 100% and use it as normal and after 12 months its still 100% battery health on 13 Pro. I only charge with Apple 5W wall adapter. My mate has a 13 Pro and only uses MagSafe, it warms up a lot and battery health is at 96% after 12 months. I think 5W does the trick to keep an excellent battery health. And in emergencies when I need to recharge I have the 20W wall adapter.

Edit: its 95% not 96%

so bacially you go to their website, and when creating a quote you choose you wish to use SmartKiosk. When at the SmartKiosk, you scan a QR code you receive in your order e-mail, confirm your iPhone details & sell price. Then you put iPhone inside the machine (there’s no cables to connect) with IMEI number visible on screen (they tell you how to show it). Then the process begins, a person remotely checks your iPhone through cameras in the machine, if it’s in good condition and if there’s iCloud lock etc. I had to wait 20mins for a person to connect to start checking my phone, after that the whole check took approximately 3mins. If all is good you confirm the price and they proceed with payment immediately, the funds were visible on my account within an hour.
Sure it’s not a little person that lives in the machine?

Got mine 14pro in purple delivered this morning, took a while to transfer the esim as it wasn’t clear thanks to EE.

Loving having a pro model again after 3 years, plus the colour complements my Midnight M2 Air.

My 13 Pro Max got put on a MagSafe charger every night and left on over night. 12 months later my battery health is still 100% so don’t think it’s just MagSafe charging.

I've fitted the Midnight silicone case from Apple, which looks lovely, but I do miss being able to see Space Black in all its glory. Do I just keep the phone as naked as the day it was manufactured? If so, I should probably get ready to return the three other cases that are arriving over the next week or so

I'm having this same thoughts, i really dont want to put anything on my silver PM when it arrives tomorrow. I never do a screen protector but always have a back case. I might just use it naked also but get applecare this time!

I hope everyone’s launch day went smoothly. I got my 14 Pro Purple without any issues and moving my Sim contract from O2 to Vodafone eSim worked perfectly. Got everything transferred and working. The only issue I had was my airtags didn’t show up on my new phone until I installed the iOS update. Coming from a 12 Pro the 120Hz screen plus the dynamic island animations closing an audio app and watching it go into the cutout gives me a big grin every time.

Sorry to hijack but does anyone know why iOS16 (I installed the beta in late august) is killing my capacity?

People on EE - sorry, another post from me, but I’ve been waiting 12 hours for my eSim to activate (new download from app). Not sure what to do… I’m flying abroad tomorrow morning

Mine hung so I gave up after 30 mins and cancelled it. Re-did it via iPhone settings instead of EE app and it worked straight away.

Is it just me that finds EE’s chat absolutely useless?! Trying to find out about how I activate my Apple Music smart benefit and they are not understanding what I’m asking 😖

Were you already using an eSIm on your previous phone? If so go into settings > cellular and see if it lets you transfer from there. I just did it but am so tired I've already forgotten exactly what I did but started from the new phone and then approved the change on the old phone. Worked instantly.

Honestly I just use and abuse the battery fast charging, run it now to almost 0%. I have AppleCare so if it goes fubar will just get them to replace the battery

My 12PM was still only 93% after over 20 months

It tells me my account is ineligible for that…
