What model are you getting?

One slight little irk with my LK case is the fact the the Lightning cable hole, seems to have been designed with the official Apple cable in mind, as it’s quite narrow and some of my 3rd party cables don’t go in far enough.

It’s far from the end of the world as I don’t charge by cable at home very often, but it means I will probably have to source a difference cable for the car (I want a black one, so can’t get official Apple), as I don’t want to be fannying around every morning when I get in the car, having to take the case off.

Or, I could go naked instead (the phone, not me in the car! 🤣).
 
Finally (after what felt like an age) in my delivery window frame of 26th - 3rd for 14PM.

Based on previous windows, should I expect it sooner or later? Travelling this weekend so feel like it's inevitable it'll be delivered then and I'll have to have DPD/whoever else hold it for 3 days.
I had 26th of September to 3rd of October originally (they always launch while I’m on holiday, so a neighbour takes it in for me), but then I got a *Despatched* notification on the 20th (the day we were flying back), saying it would be delivered the next day, so it couldn’t have been timed any better.
 
I completely forgot that my EE sim only deal was coming to an end, so in the market for a new one. I currently pay about £25, and that includes Apple Music (which I was paying £10 a month for anyway before!) and unlimited 5G. This is also with 20% off through my work.

Am I going to get anything remotely close to that sort of deal again?
As others suggested, request your PAC and wait for retentions to call and see what they offer. But do your homework so you know what deals are out there with other suppliers.
 
So finally decided on the Gold Pro Max. Ultimately I didn't like the shiny purple band around the DP and the white of back of silver felt a bit cold and dull after a few days use. I know I am in the minority around here but I think the gold is quite a classical, neutral looking tone.

Unfortunately I had redeemed my Apple Gift Card against the Deep Purple and they wouldn't let me return the gold and rebuy as had opened the box (seems crazy and possible contrary to what had been discussed around here much earlier in the thread so thought I'd pop on and mention). This means that I have the balance back on the gift card which is annoying as wanted it applied to the phone purchase. Guy at the Apple Store in Edinburgh said sure you'll buy something else soon with it. I said no I was really relying on it against the phone purchase but frankly I've had enough of average-bad customer service in the last week that I couldn't be bothered arguing. So looks now like I'll be buying the Air Pods Pro2!! This was after him saying he would not have picked the gold as he didn't the gold was as nice this year. Way to go on building up my enthusiasm but at least he served me quickly rather than making me wait as the store was packed.

Also had a major faff with MusicMagpie last week. Can't recall if I posted to say that that received but sent me a revaluation (down £90) on basis received outside 14 day period. Anyway I had already spoken to someone on MM chat because I can't get logged back into my account and that meant I couldn't check out on a saved quite so they agreed to add 7 days to my checked out order. So I went on chat on Thursday evening and said that I not sent late. Was repeatedly told they do not extend trade in dates and went around in circles. Eventually I asked 'A' so was 'C' lying when he said he put a note on my order and to confirm that there was no note left on my account. At this point she said she would double check and came back apologising and saying there was indeed a note and that I should just accept the re-valuation and I'll get it paid the original trade in amount as two sums (even mentioned the UPGRADE22 code which I hadnt mentioned during the chat at all. So came off chat delighted/relieved opened up the email to accept and it required me to sign into my account!! I had just explained the whole extension was due to unresolved issues signing into my account so cue first thing Friday morning back on chat asking them to accept / confirm the order. At 1.15pm an email arrives from MM saying I have only 13 days to accept the revaluation so back on chat but they confirmed payment was with their finance department (she told me to ignore the chase email, quoted the correct original amounts and said would be paid Friday). No payment received Friday and another MM reminder email received yesterday. Will see if I get payment today or tomorrow and if no joy chase on Wednesday!

Well done if you read to the end of this but needed to vent a little! Am not even mentioning the Off Topic hassle am having with Air France changing my flights and their horrible call centre who refuse to let me speak to a more senior member of staff.

I got a similar message from them this morning, think i took current contact out when i went 5G 2 years ago. Currently play £31 for unlimited data, and big screen BT sports. They offered me an upgrade to £36 not including BT sports so will be staying as i am, but good to know if there are any good deals out there.

Hi Everyone, don't want to burst the bubble but I found a fault with my iPhone!! Literally didn't know about this until I read a review online. Basically its the camera grinding noise when the camera app is open. If you open the camera app and hold the phone to your ear you shouldn't hear a noise, but mine makes a noise!! Great so just return your phone and get a new one...except there are none and I have no back up phone as I've already sold my old phone! What should I do?!

Did you try iOS 16.0.2 ?
 
did you take apple care? don't get have express service or something they can offer?
I called them, they were like take it to the store we can't help you here (I reserved it then bought in store). So I'm on my way to the store but not holding my breath...might have to buy a regular iPhone 14 in the meantime?!

I don’t think Apple should be treating those with AC any differently to those without if the product is faulty. It should be a replacement or refund at this point as the phone is only 2 weeks old.
not at all for a 2 week old phone, it was if the AC+ just gave some advantage over not having it?

I'm in the same boat as you! My work 20% is only for new customers, sadly. Deal I'm on just now is £20 (£25 less 20%) 125GB and Apple Music.

Update your phone to the newest version of iOS, it’s a known fault.

I disagree.

Without AC+, Apple will absolutely replace/refund/repair, as is the law, but they are offering a premium service with AC+, for a premium additional
price.

I want a black one, so can’t get official Apple

Not sure how easy it’d be but there are black official Apple ones - my black Powerbeats Pro came with a black cable (I’m assuming it’d be identical to white ones - apart from colour - but I’ve never looked closely)
