Some of it is probably Apple trying to shift stock they’ve already made. But if they’re making new 12s and 13s I think they need to focus on making the 14 Pro series.

I have managed to secure one. After been checking for the entire week, this morning, in the middle of a meeting, decided to pick my phone, checked on the Store App and within 20s the one I wanted appeared in 2 stores, placed 2 reservations. It felt like I won the lottery. Stock was gone after few minutes. Really, really luck or don’t know what, it was so random, while I was working, in the middle of a busy activity.
I’ll give you further updates once I secure the purchase.
As long as reserved you should get it.
Loads of stores got stock throughout the day today which fits in with the next delivery window probably starting tomorrow.

No. If you have reserved they have it in store. Like I said there has been a lot of stock arrive in stores today. Which means they have a had huge delivery into the UK in the last couple of days.

You can pay by whatever method you want even with an iUP reservation.
I was referring to the fact that it’s almost impossible to find stock unless you lose your brain with refreshing the Store App. Amazon screwed my parcel and it’s now out of stock (stock appeared briefly yesterday and it was gone by the time I finished at work). You walk into a Store and no stock is avail for purchase.
lol I remember when I was trying to get the iphone 12 an apple store employee suggested checking at 6am....dont know if he was pulling my leg or not but not having any luck this time round
others in this thread have said 6am too. But I think stock can pop up at any time, possibly because people reserve but don't collect.
Yep this is absolutely normal. The Apple roulette game has be played by quite a few of us and it is a commitment to the game that eventually you win
and get what you want. We know never to buy launch devices from Amazon. This has been known for a good few years. They rarely deliver. It’s one thing they are really bad at.
Stock trickles into stores whether it be Apple, John Lewis, Argos, Curry’s throughout the first couple of months.
Hence why we a) have this thread and b) why we have store checker apps to check stock.
He means every minute (the minimum the stock checker app refreshes!!!)

It used to be the race for 6am but I think it has changed.
I noticed stock appearing all over the place yesterday morning. Mostly coincides with about 30 mins before store opening times.
Do you have Mac? If so you can download https://worthbak.github.io/inventory-checker-app/ and monitor the stock in your local store and nearby stores for the model you want.
I think the main lesson that we say every year.

@Jinjin next year instead of the poll can we have information on iUP, reserve ordering, online payment for pickup and links for stock checker app etc? This can then be edited by you as we go on - then at least we can say refer to op post.

Although the thread hadn’t been as bad this year as others it’s got to the point of the same question on repeat.
I would say it is slowly getting worse now as more people join the thread and don’t bother to read back a few pages.

The poll doesn’t really get much interaction after the announcement. No one really bothers about what people want until ordering and then change their minds. Be better with info.
Definitely worse with the repetition.
But the thread has also taken multiple directions by the hardcore people, it’s not just a despatch thread, it’s an announcement/preorder/despatch thread and turned in to a good community of people.
