Does anyone know whether Apple let people in with their laptop to sit at a bench and work from there?

Jinjin next year instead of the poll can we have information on iUP, reserve ordering, online payment for pickup and links for stock checker app etc? This can then be edited by you as we go on - then at least we can say refer to op post.
yeah, that first post does need a refresh! there's a lot of stuff we just all know about now so keen to put in the stuff people really care about!

its always a case in a years time we won't quite remember what happened when.

any info people want to see.. any more importantly for me, if you're happy to word it... ping it over on DM and I'll keep a track

They’re called “staff” 😉

If I was in the office, it’s kind of what I do. My office and Apple Store Glasgow share the same staff entrance.

I need to do some work and just need somewhere to work from whilst my wife is working in Manchester. So thought just take my laptop and work in a store. Will they allow it?

Edit: I just plonked myself down in store. But feel I should ask someone.

others in this thread have said 6am too. But I think stock can pop up at any time, possibly because people reserve but don't collect.

It used to be that they would open the reservations at 6am each morning for that day.

Ive done this before. I had a huge file to upload and the stores have pretty good bandwidth so I thought why not. I just went in and sat down. No one said anything, I even had to plug my MacBook in at one point.

I have asked if it’s ok and the guy said yes unless it gets busy. A girl came over and said are you waiting on an appointment I explained and she said it’s going to get busy so may need the area but should be ok. She took away and gave in same sentence.

I don't understand how the phones disappear within a second of being up on the website
If you snooze, you lose. People are watching like hawks, they know as soon as the phone they want appears, they have to grab it it somebody else will. Some may have set up stock watching systems to alert them, others are just lucky.

The poll doesn’t really get much interaction after the announcement. No one really bothers about what people want until ordering and then change their minds. Be better with info.

I noticed that www.mobiles.co.uk is considerably cheaper than the equivalente Vodafone deal for PM going directly to Vodafone. Same for the other networks. How is that possible? Like £70 vs £35 a month for the same deal. Can’t be true right?

Probably using some of their commission from the networks to subsidise the tariffs.

I recall the amount paid for a new contract in commission is quite eye watering.
