My iphone 14 pro max offical leather case from apple already the buttons seem to have broke same with bottom of the case. Think I will go against apple cases for the 15 pro max.
I’ve heard (somewhere) that they will replace the case under the 1 year warranty if you take it into a store

I want to insure my 14PM as it's just too expensive to replace if I were to lose it/get stolen.

Do you guys recommend getting insurance through Apple Care Plus Theft and Loss, or going to my bank Nationwide for insurance? I have heard conflicting things when it comes to mobile insurance through Nationwide, such as the quality of screen repairs being poor and phones being replaced with faulty phones...
Apple Care is a safer route I am guessing since you go to Apple directly for the repair?

I believe so but it should really say UKCA instead for UK models to be compliant after Brexit. Apple is sending us European CE compliant models.

Note. Even Samsung had started using UKCA from last year on their watches and phones.

Let’s face it though very few of us care what is written on the side in all honesty. CE marking is still an integral part of British manufacturing for trading with the EU, so I don’t see why it matters.

Apple care is your best bet I would say. Ideal if you have a store near by too

Another vote here for AppleCare+. Complete peace of mind.

Anyone received their EE bills?
@Sal09 CPI + 4% is a lovely thing isn't it. I mean every provider does it but I had a bit of a heated discussion with their support as they increase the whole bill - which includes the phone, and THAT, I believe, is something other providers not do. So I just spent £1k to buy myself out of the contract. Putting it on a credit card costs me 7.5% compared to the 14% they would charge if I were to stay with them. So was an easy math. I am now on PAYG ..

- which includes the phone,

cheeky beggars! you made the right call moving the 'finance' to the card in this case.

I'm seriously evaluating the costs with EE for me. I've got 2 lines and use the BT sport big screen through them... but I'm sure if I do the math, then I should be able to find a cheaper deal for my 2 lines and probably pay for BTsport separately and still be better off.

I own my own home so things like phones are covered for theft, loss and damage through home contents insurance. When I consider I can insure my own home, it’s contents and even car insurance is less than AppleCare+, it hits home how expensive the Apple route is. Whatever is best for others, but when I’ve paid so much for an iPhone, I don’t want to be giving Apple anymore for insurance personally.

typical issue with claims on home insurance would be any future premiums being raised as you would have a claim marked on your file.. typically they stay around for 3-5 years so you could end up paying more in the future.

but with any insurance product, you don't miss it until you do! Personally, I've had insurance from banks etc but I'm now happy to pay the extra for cover from apple. I've had broken screens replaced in the past and the bank insurance use non-official parts (or did back then) and it was never the same quality.

the convenience is a big factor for me nowadays too.. having to get a replacement or fix by sending off my phone for over a week before is a pain if you don't have a replacement at hand.

its crazy to think we use to buy phones not that many years ago, for nearly half the price of what we do today. for me, insurance is a must.

but its horses for courses, find what is important for you and then a policy to match.

p.s. - if anyone carries their phone around 'naked' then they are a psychopath and should have cover :D

there's really not that much competition around, looking this morning... from the big providers that is.

might have to look at Giffgaff as a cheap and cheerful option. I assume they don't support wifi calling or visual voicemail?

nothing currently on offer get near my £200GB for £26 inc BT sport add-on...

It’s still considerably cheaper than AppleCare for me as I’ve made one claim in the last 20 years. I’m not really I. The habit of breaking or losing my phones to be honest and totally begrudge paying a significant premium to Apple for something I potentially will never use.

that's the weigh-up... insurance is something you hopefully never have to use!

similar position to you, only ever made 1 claim back in the iPhone 5/6 days I think!

I am paying £41 /mth for the Apple all one or whatever they call it. I get Apple One, BT sport (inc big screen), unlimited everything (data, calls, texts) and 2 extras. I use one of them for US roaming as I go over there 3-4 times a year for work and to see my daughter. For work I could claim it back but right PIA, so much easier to have worldwide roaming included. I took my wife down to £11/mth for unlimited mins and 1GB data and gift her 100gb each month. Can't see how I can do any better from another provider so easily. I am on SIM only on both and out of contract.
