Well my thinking was that swapping my main SIM to an eSIM would make it easier to pop a physical PAYG SIM card into the phone when abroad in countries where roaming is extortionate, keeping my main line active too.

Which might have worked well if the eSIM hadn't disabled 5G and WiFi calling. No easy way to tell whether it was the new iPhone or the eSIM which was faulty either, which would have been easy to diagnose with physical SIM cards.

I also still have the physical SIM 😏
Just get an eSIM from www.eSIMs.ai

Transferring from a SIM to an eSIM wasn’t my issue (I did that successfully last September).

My issue was not having an eSIM after Apple replaced my phone And the only way to get one, was to go into a Vodafone store, get a new physical SIM activated and then get that transferred to an eSIM.

I still have the physical SIM.😏
Quite identical to me with ee, my iPhone 13PM went into a crash on start loop and had to get it replaced in store from Apple. Was without my eSim as there was no way to get into the phone do backup or anything. Went to an ee shop and just asked for a physical sim and haven't gone back to eSim since

I'm thinking on jumping ship from EE this year, my SIM only deal ran out on the 23rd August. So watching these SIM only deal with more interest. I was on £22 for an Unlimited data with 2 add on (BT Sport and roaming), but they now want £43 per month for the same.

Can’t you keep the existing deal of £22 and not upgrade. Ask for a loyalty discount as well

You should be on a rolling contract now at the same price. Stay where you are, I’d say.

EE are like virgin media and the rest are the same rip off merchants they hook you up with attractive deals and increase your price plan once your out of contract by sending you a letter or email happened to me with three a few times was paying £13 for unlimited data they wanted £27 a month told them "PAC" code please now on smarty for £15 unlimited everything also no inflation and CPI better value with payandgo sim deals including roaming doesn't make any sense to stay on contract.

Same, I stayed on a physical SIM.

It doesn’t feel like the U.K. is ready for eSIMs just yet.

Shame the cash back process seems a right ballache

What and oxymoron

Cashback Claim Process:
Claiming your cashback couldn't be simpler. You will need to send in your mobile phone bill at months 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12
I didn’t realise this kind of scheme still existed.

I did a similar one, but it was about 10 years ago.

It absolutely pays to be disloyal to mobile network companies.

This is best deal out there. Vodafone 5G, 100GB for £7.67 after Cashback

It’s only “best” if you live/work/travel in an area that’s well served by Vodafone though.

There’s no such thing as the best mobile network.

People don’t/won’t, but the best way to see what works for you is get a free SIM from VF/EE/O2/3 and see how well it works for your needs.

People love to get the cheapest SIM with loads of data and unlimited calls and texts, only to find that <whoever> has ***** mobile coverage where they need it.

Voxi have been really good. Been with them a year now.
All the Vodafone frills without the cost / contract.

And when I say all I mean all except eSIM! eSIM would make it even more attractive as you would be connected in seconds.

You get the same 5G, Wificalling and Visual Voicemail. It’s Vodafone all over except by name. Even the monthly billing and the contract from Voxi is headed up as Vodafone!!

Not really... A simple logon in those months to Mobiles.co.uk and Vodafone to save your bill and upload it. Cheque arrives within 2 weeks, hold them all then lodge them to your account at one time

Vodafone coverage is up there. I live in Norn Iron and EE are absolute dogsh** where I live. We have very limited 5G over here but Vodafone coverage is very good

@dbrose what are voxi like with roaming?

I'm using very little data any more... looking at my past bills I can't see I've peaked over 15GB in a month.

just the music streaming when commuting.. and that would be included with Voxi... only big usage I have is when lost abroad

Wouldn’t you just offline your albums/playlists anyway?

Seems better to do that regardless of data allowances/coverage.

I never know what I want to listen to.. I'm sure I pretty much spend 80% of my commute just skipping to the next random song

They charge in packages. But better priced than Vodafone.
