Anyone advise me on this? Ordered a second through CPW, was told delivery had changed to 10/11 due to amex fraud block. This morning they've just charged me fully. Could this mean I'm back to 3/11?

I've ordered mine Friday
Got email from apple yesterday saying payment declined.

Called my bank Lloyds and been told it's due to payment being processed as Apple Pay which is limited to £100 in lloyds...
So now when I'm trying to use any other card, payment is still processed as apple pay and therefore declined. I tried mine my wife's and even my mates cards. All declined.
Not convinced that with Lloyds it’s all down to Apple Pay as I had the same problem buying the 8 and I was just paying by Lloyds Amex CC. Apple blamed Lloyds … Lloyds blamed Apple and it was never resolved for online purchase although the card worked with other retailers. No luck with payment by phone either but paying in store worked fine. (I didn’t want to use another card as I wanted the Avíos points.) Hoping they get it sorted for next year.

I have a delivery date of 13-20 Nov, but I’m tempted to go to the Brighton Apple Store in Friday to try and get one as a walk in customer. The store is in a shopping mall, what do people think the busyness will be like? It’s not like people can queue by the store over night and there’s so many entrances if I get there early then surely I stand a good chance?

I was considering a walk in attempt at the Southampton Apple store which too is inside a shopping centre, so not sure how they can manage queues before the centres doors open. Perhaps they’ll be on the ball and have a dedicated queuing point outside one of the entrances.

Same here. Apple Pay and AmEx shows authorised and funds holding.
Apple Pay and Amex as well - I called Amex on the day I ordered and the rep on Amex side said everything was authorised. Shows as authorised in my transaction list in wallet too so think we're all good

X 256 SG, ordered via Store App. Got on 8.03ish confirmation email 8.04. Delivery for Friday. Can’t believe my luck.

Paid with Apple Pay linked to Natwest and so far all has gone smoothly. Money is still held on account, available balance has dropped but normal balance same but it normally takes two or three days for card transactions to appear. Preparing for Dispatch status at Apple.

Not seen many people mention Natwest so is that a good sign?

Wish you all the greatest luck, last year I had problems and somehow my order bounced itself ahead by the skin of its teeth. Small excited child at Christmas waiting for his presents. Wish someone between Apple and these banks would write a document detailing the limits, ie is Apple Pay really unlimited or do the banks impose their own limits rather than this being such a voyage of discovery for everyone.
I'm on an Apple Pay - Natwest (credit card) combo - 3/11 delivery. Two transactions on my card in the wallet (perhaps one is a pre-authorisation ?), both say "Pending". Available funds on my card not reduced though, order status is PDF.
In short, who knows - looks like it's a bit of a lottery with Apple Pay, knew I should have gone down the "Other Payment Options" route. Did buy my 7Plus with Apple Pay (not Natwest) and tht was fine BUT it wasn't a pre-order it was for next day delivery. I think it's the time gap between when you (pre) orderand when Apple take the funds on shipping that's the issue ?

I have never been so excited to see over a thousand pounds leave my account. Will change to "Authorisation" shortly before preparing to ship based on my leather case. Will keep an eye out as it might indicate when things could advance for the 2-3 seekers like me!

It’s freeeezzzzing this morning. No chance of me waiting in this weather. I’ll stay warm and cosy and wait 10 more days.

If anything I’ll try the usual store reservation option from the 4th and see if one pops up in the meantime.

anybody going to the Apple Store on launch day just to see the madness? I will be getting mine on the 3rd by DPD and tempted to get the nike watch series 3 on that day so be interesting to see if the phone is out for people to check out

I might if I get early delivery. Ordered two 64gb Space Grey from Apple but not sure who the courier will be. Wish it was DPD due to their excellent time slot and tracking options.

Apple has now charged my AmEx

Strangely enough this has changed from Apple Distribution Inernational Emea to Apple Online Hollyhill UK. SO I would say direct from the UK for this meaning devices are already here.

I had the same problem - every Apple Pay attempt failed on Friday so just paid with my card directly (which was fine) for in-store pick up in Brighton on Friday. Same thing happened in September when trying to buy the AW3 through the app. I’m with Lloyds - 2 debit and 2 credit cards. Same story with each.
