Surprised people are already using it in day-to-day activities. Not sure about you, but my phone always slips out of my pocket and onto the floor when I'm at the gym, so be careful!

whether my phones a day old or a year old it goes the gym in a extra thick silicone gel case and always has on a tempered glass screen protector. and yeah i thought to give it its full test i would run it though my day to day life out of the box because the IP7P experience was still fresh

Does anyone else feel like the phone is too small? They could’ve at least matched the width of the 7 Plus.

Other than that I am underwhelmed and will probably downgrade to an 8. Anyone feels the device is weird?

Yes I know where you’re coming from, but after a few hours use I picked my Plus up and it felt massive! Definitely lacking width coming from that phone but to me the trade off is worth it for the smaller footprint.

So,

Collected my phone from the Apple store an hour away, came home, unboxed it. Have to say this is the most pleased I have felt about holding an iPhone since the 6. The feeling of having something ‘new’ instead of a rehashed design. I’m loving it. The size is great for one handed use and having the front as a whole screen is just superb. And it feels SO premium. Heavy and solid. It feels like you’re holding something expensive. Had a look at the space grey in the store before I left and I have to say I am glad I chose the silver!

It is a minefield as under UK Consumer law the retailer only has to pass on the manufacturer's warranty (forget the EU 'regulations, the UK has never adopted them as they are still in directive status).

if there was an issue after this 12 months then the supplier (who you bought the phone from, say Argos) would be responsible to a repair/replacement.

The problem is that you as the consumer have to prove, under law, that the fault was inherent during the warranty period and only manifested itself with the 'reasonable lifetime' of the faulty goods (Apple quote three years life expectancy for an iPhone).

that could be something difficult to prove and get Argos to accept in this scenario. If you had bought the phone from Apple directly, you would have an easier time getting them to fix it as the onus is on them as the supplier.

with the JL 2 year warranty you get piece of mind for not having to deal with such issues in the first 24 months of owning the phone.

Yes I know all this, I was asking what the difference was between the standard John Lewis 2 year warranty and the "2 years' Added Care as someone was asking about it. Well I recall I had the "added care" as it covers accidents and my son's iPad Mini 3 was slightly bent and they replaced it.

Guys anyone see a very yellow screen when looking straight on at the screen, but good/normal colours when the phone is angled away? It’s really putting me off. I do have an anker screen protector on but I’m sure the issue was there before. I have a second phone that I’ll open tomorrow and test (my sisters phone)

Also slight second issue, AirPods don’t seem to be working as well right now. On the 7 they would pop straight away, but now there’s a 3-4 second delay. Also I was just on a call using AirPods, once I ended the call and started playing something on Apple Music it went to loudspeaker. Not sure what’s causing these issues

I looked it up, its a faff wouldnt know where to start, I'll try with my beta 11.1 and see how that goes

It wont restore as IPhone X is 11.0.3. You have to restore the X to 11.1 before syncing with your old phone.

i had this, im not sure if its the same issue as 7 where it took time or the Adhesive on the panels to dry or they have changed the hue. but either way, you can go into accessibility, display accommodations and colour filters and just the hue to a cool colour which makes it seem more natural. its what i have done and ill switch it off in a week to check if its still yellow. if it is, no big deal keeping the setting on

Turning off True Tone just now has helped a bit but it’s slightly annoying. Let’s see how it goes over the next few days.

I went to my local CPW store, they had zero stock and 1 demo unit - which is funny as they have a demo unit of a device they don't even have stock of in-store to sell to customers. Then I went to my local Apple reseller store, and they had zero stock as well as they stock went to pre-orders, but they said they will be getting more stock on Monday, so I reserved one unit for pickup. They're offering 3 years warranty as well which is great!

try the accessibility option and cool the hue if its still annoying. not sure why apple even placed that option in accessibility it should be in display settings

yeah true tone is good in selective environments. like i personality put it on if im spending a lot of time under blue toned or white lighting like in an office or something as true tone makes your device easier on the eyes but i turn it off mostly

No Ones being mean, just giving advice. Forgive me, I thing you misunderstand,
You can not restore a phone if the operating system is higher than the operating system of the phone your restoring to.
Iphone X is 11.0.3 so as you are using a higher operating system you must update your new purchase for it to restore to the operating system you are currently using and backing up. The last Public update a few days ago was 11.1 So if you have this or higher then an update on your new purchase will be necessary before it will sync. Many forum users did not update form the original public 11.0.3 those users will be able to sync straight away with the new X without updating it first.

How good is it? You got a pic by any chance? Tempted to just go get one tomorrow. Really want a crisp HD finish and don’t want the screen protector to stick out as bad.

I really like it, the edges are rounded off so it is hardly noticeable when swiping up compared with the Anker one which was quite rough round the edges. It doesn't sit right to the edge of the screen but it covers the whole display and with the Apple Silicone Case on it it is a great fit

They actually just released 11.2 for iPhone X 🙂

That said - as I said earlier, if you're currently on the last 11.1 beta, that's the same as the public 11.1 release, so you'll be fine! It'll just work if you try and restore an iCloud backup. It'll update your phone for you before restoring.
