UK iPhone 4S thread.

microsim

I managed to pre-order my 4s on O2 at Carphone Warehouse. 12 month contract. Upgrading from my existing O2 contract, which just expired. I did this on the phone, and it was pretty quick and painless. I previously had got my phones directly from O2, but didn't fancy queuing up. So, I'm looking forward to Friday..!

My current phone is a 3GS, and I don't have a microsim. I'm still using a sim card I've had for years. Will the new iPhone that is sent to me have a new SIM? And if not, should I go to O2 to change sims?

White 16GB order confirmation W 2525.....

Ordered 08.43 on Friday; confirmation email stamped 09.20 am that morning

Changed from "Processing" to "Prepared for shipment" around 22.15

(lovely green leather case back from Melkco on way, along with shields - thought I'd have a change from my Vaja flip. Was still using my original iPhone!! Battery just about to die;))

Thanks to MikeWilson for the giffgaff micro-sim, which arrived this morning :D
 
My white 32Gb now says:

Processing Items Dispatched: Ships by October 14th



I ordered 9.30am on the 7th.


This thread is keeping me going whilst I try and be patient upgrading my 4 to iOS5 - now on 2nd attempt after the 3200 error code. My 4S might have arrived by the time I get this one updated!

You will need to go to o2 who will give you a micro sim and explain the process to port it over. Normally takes about an hour and should be free. I did mine last year.
 
Anyone who ordered a Black 16GB still sitting in 'Processing Items'?!?! Should I be concerned? My order is going to Northern Ireland :eek:!
 
My 32GB White phone has changed to Prepared for Shipment now, got the confirmation email as 9:23am on Friday - not that I think its relevant to when the orders are getting processed.

cool!! may be there's a hope after all coz I rang apple just to vheck and they said that my iphone is still pending though my order status says: shipd by october 14 so, he told me to expect it next week :( im still hoping though coz I placed my order just before 9am. I just have to extend my patience

ordered friday 7th, 9:43am EU time (1-3mins after store went up), confirmation email saturday 8th 1pm-ish

Mine has just prepared for shipping. 64GB White ordered on the 7th and confirmation by 9.21am. Also going to Northern Ireland!! Fingers crossed here for Friday:D

You can get ready in advance tomorrow if you want to and you are near any O2 store. They will give you a micro SIM which is actually a full size SIM which you can pop out the micro SIM part from when the new phone comes. You can put this in your 3GS and get your contract swapped onto it at http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk - it only takes a few minutes to swap over. Then when the 4S comes, you can take it out of your 3GS, pop out the micro SIM part, and put it in the 4S.

All the best for Friday! Hope we get our orders Friday morning!! Did yours just change there now? I'm sooo excited I can't wait haha!! :D
