Guys, no need to phone apple for a tracking number for UPS.

I just tried my tracking number on the apple website, the one starting with a number 8 next to where it says "Tracking number"

I entered it into the reference box on UPS site (not the normal tracking box). It worked, brought up a page saying how a label has been made and it will update later.

Thanks. Also, at the top of that page you'll see your actual tracking no.

I've got to say, Three is doing incredibly well this week.

They've been on the ball and they managed to get their pre-ordering, tariff information, and nano-SIM pickups all sorted before the pre-ordering started on Friday. No other network managed to get themselves in order so efficiently.

Three are also offering fantastic contract-tariffs. Normally going SIM-free is the cheapest option, but Three's iPhone 5 deals only end up costing a few £s more over a 24 month contract. This is clever, because they've made it a no-brainer to switch to them from other carriers, and I'm sure that most of these new customers will stay with Three once they experience how fast their network is.

Agreed,O2 and Vodafone must have lost loads of customers this launch esp with unlimited data and the fact this phone wont be 4G compliant on there network

So the Carphone Warehouse e-mail confirming dispatch of my iPhone 5 contains a small caveat in addition to the non-active tracking number

*Please note all iPhone 5 orders will be dispatched for delivery from 21st September onwards

Does this mean that Friday delivery is definitely not going to happen?

Agreed.

I left O2 for Three a few months ago, and the data speed on my 4S is outstanding. Their indoor coverage is a little weak, but only if you're surrounded by concrete...

This is the only thing that has worked. FANKS!!!

T-mobile

I FINALLY got through to a helpful T-Mobile customer service rep who told me my iPhone was “being picked” as we speak and should get delivered by UK Mail tomorrow. **fingers crossed**

For anyone who is still having trouble getting any useful information out of T-Mobile regarding iPhone 5 orders, this is how I was able to extract the info out of them.

It seems that on all T-Mobile iP5 orders, when the customer service rep’s take your information at the start of the call (address, post code, order number), a screen immediately pops up instructing them to “advise customers that phone is being released on the 21st.” The goal here, is to get them to look past this screen and to actually look into your order..

With help from what I read on the T-Mobile forums, it seems people have been getting automated e-mail responses from T-Mobile when sending emails to get status updates on orders. The automated response says something about having received the customer’s request to invoke DSR. I’m not entirely sure what this means, but it seems to be enough to confuse the T-Mobile customer service reps into looking more closely into your order. So here’s what to do…

Call 01577652091 because it’s a free number, then choose option 1, then option 1 again… When a service rep picks up tell them:

  • You’ve called recently to get a status update on your order and have been told that your order was already picked and ready for dispatch.
  • If they bother you at this stage tell them, you’ve been told they already have their iPhone stock (obviously, because the order has been picked already)
  • Then tell them you received a random email from them saying that T-Mobile has received your request to invoke DSR, and that you are confused and you just want to make sure your phone is still getting delivered.

They will then (hopefully) take a closer look into your account and be able to give you an updated status on your order, a 10 digit order number starting with 02xxxxxxxx, and what courier will be delivering your iPhone.

From what I have gathered they are using both Royal Mail and UK Mail. If your order is being delivered by UK Mail, it might help to take a look at this statement they released today:

https://www.ukmail.com/media/docs/Im...e-delivery.pdf

Hope this helps…

I think that means they leave from delivery offices etc. on the 21st for delivery that day.

What time/ what day did you preorder?

Still doesn't recognise my 8 code. Tried it in tracking and reference number.

If it really has dispatched and you can track it, then It will arrive tommorow providing they used a next day courier, which is very likely.

Ordered on the 12th about 2 hours after opening.

My tracking reference on the carphone warehouse site says "Your City Link Tracking number is...."

Weird

Also it's worth noting you may see no change with regards to tracking for a long time now. I work as IT Support at DHL Hub East Midlands Airport, the day time is very quiet in the warehouse. There are FAR more lorry movements and warehouse activity between about 10pm and 4am. That is when stuff really darts moving around.

You can get a nano sim online. If you order today it will be with you by tomorrow. Really fast.

Three have been fantastic to me so far and I have only been with them for 2 days!

Three? they had nano sims since last week.

Go to site, sim only, then it will ask which sim you want, select nano.

Or pop into a 3 store.

Good information from UKMail: Deliveries missed on Friday 21st September will be automatically redelivered on Saturday 22nd September. Please do not go to the UK Mail depot on Saturday as your phone will be with our Driver for redelivery.

Maybe they will actually deliver this time, even if it is on the second go.

Checked on UK Mail and says my phone is awaiting collection, expected delivery 21/09/12. So should be collected later, ready for dispatch by courier :)

Mine says exactly the same, although you can track it on Yodels website, I'm more worried about saying it was delivered to Cambridge August 2011

Go to a store today and you can pick one up with an adapter if you want.

3 have been exceptional this pat week with us moving to them tbh. You can order online and over the phone.

Thanks. Also, at the top of that page you'll see your actual tracking no.

FYI if you mail yourselves that tracking number on the iPhone then hold finger on it when received it gives you the option to track within mail in your iPhone-NEAT!

Mine says the same, and the link even takes you to City Link's site (where the number is not recognised). But if you try the same JD number on Yodel's tracking site, what do you get? Most of us appear to have recycled numbers that are showing delivery details from last year...

Weird, I'm putting the tracking number beginning with 8 on the reference page at UPS, but all I'm getting is this message:

>>>UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Verify your information and try again.

Will give it a go again later.
