UK iPhone 5 thread

This is painful, a UK Mail van literally drove by my flat building and didn't stop. It had a character called 'Parcel Pete' drawn on the side, my name is Pete..

Anyone managed to get a sim-free device from CPW?

I went this morning, only got paid this week couldn't pre-order, and I was told that contrary to their website I could only buy one in store if I was getting a new contract!

Bugger! Matlock and derby sorted now come back in the middle and sort me out!

Just had a call from Orange asking how my new phone is and what will I be using it for? Is this a Effing joke or what? I've not even got the phone yet
 
Mine turned up 50 minutes ago by UPS, no scuffs luckily.

Curently topping up the charge on it and waiting for my nano sim to activate!

I quizzed him and said you know it's an iPhone then and he was like "yeah ;)", I asked how many he got and he said about 20 in his truck.

I'm in the SP10 area.
 
Ok....should I be worried about this?? I bought mine direct from Apple.....my wife upgraded through Orange......both were out for delivery from UK Mail........hers turned up but mine didn't.....i don't really know how carriers work, but surely they would have worked it so both of ours would have arrived at the same time wouldn't they??

I hope they don't for my sake but doesn't make sense if they don't! Anyone know?? :confused:
 
Well got mine :D

Call just before 12pm from Orange store to say my reservation had arrived so nipped down and collected in my lunch hour. I reserved 5.45pm last Friday and think I did well as assistant said they had about 25 reservations but only 7 phones came into stock today.

Beautiful and sleek in black and NO scratches - love the thin profile and lighter weight. The black looks fab against my old white 4S but one of the assistants in the store showed me his white 5 and it was pretty nice too.

Even better when I got back to my desk my bumper (eBay) had arrived in the mail....I love it when a plan comes together. Was so sure I'd have the bumper case before the phone!!!

Needless to say I couldn't get employer discount but am still £10 month cheaper than o2 and £60 quid up on the trade in price for my 4S.:)
 
I'm blown away by the speed of the thing:D

No marks on mine although I'm a bit worried about how it will look with some use.

Anyone else had anything other than 3g appear under data/signal. I usually have H+ in my house on my S2 but only says 3g on the 5.

Also, ref three and tethering, I'm on unlimited data but not one plan and tethering works perfectly on my 5, also did on my 4s but the S2 I was using recently always directed to me the three site saying tethering wasn't enabled on my plan. Glad to confirm three still cant tell you are tethering on IOS:cool:
