UK iPhone 5 thread

I've been at home all day with my gf where we both have a view out of the front of the house, not seen a single van of any shape or description pull up all day.
Just gone into "manage your delivery" on UK Mail website, and it says delivery was attempted :/

I have no idea whether or not I've got it! Mums at home and the last thing she said was that it hadn't arrived at 2pm. I've texted her since but she never answers her phone.
I rang up tmobile at lunch to ask what was going on and they said 'it's been sent to UKMail so its out of our hands. You'll get it today or tomorrow judging by it.' But I have yet to be texted a order reference number to track the thing! Although I've read about people getting the same problem. 4 days in a row TMobile have promised a tracking number via text within a few hours. Haven't had a single one! If it's not there when I get home at 7pm, I'm ringing up and demanding they give me something (as other people seemed to have been able to get a reference from tmobile.)
Had this not been an iPhone launch day I would've cut and cancelled by now. But they are sending out extra shipments tomorrow to cover all of the orders and there have been a LOT of preorders so I'll cut them some slack haha

I was on GG but switched to 3 for the ip5 to get a nano sim. Well impressed, got 18.47 upload and 2.71 download... That's better than a lot of home broadband speeds!!
Let us know how you get on. Still haven't opened mine.
My 3 sim is not activated.....however setting the phone up now via icloud backup.
First impression..... Beautiful (black) unmarked and unbelievably light!
Screen looks darker than 4s but in a sleek way. Dont want to put a case on it but i fear it will scratch so easy.
Just called UPS to check mine is definately still coming and was at least told it should still be. Knowing my luck I expct I will be the last delivery.
Tracked mine on Orange's website and it still says "Order Being Readied For Dispatch" emailed them and they said "it'll turn up when it turns up" he was very reluctant to help me, wouldn't take my order no. to find out where it is.
And finally I emailed Orange and they said "it is in the delivery system but can't tell me when it will arrive"

yes getting impatient now and preparing myself for a long iphoneless weekend!
UPS finally delivered mine, but now its too late to get to T-Mobile and get a nano-sim. Tried to cut my microsim down but it doesn't work, so now I can't use my 4S either.
Really annoyed now, all T-Mobile need to do was offer good customer service like all the other networks and let you get one in advance of today. I put in an official complaint about the whole issue a few days ago but they haven't got back to me yet.
They better still have stock left tomorrow, going to get down there for when they open.

I'm SW London and it turned up at 9:59 this morning, but I think UPS may be struggling and outsourcing as it turned up in a white van delivered by a man in jeans and t-shirt!!!
I thought UPS normally delivered in the brown American style trucks and wore uniform which makes me think they have had to grab in temporary workers to cope with demand.
I have a white iPhone 5 that got delivered at 9:30am this morning which is amazing as I never get courier deliveries that early even for Apple pre-orders.
There is a tiny, tiny hole in the aluminium back. It's like 0.1mm. I thought it was dust at first.
I'll get it swapped after all the hassle has died down at an apple store under warranty but other than that I'm happy.
I do worry about the resilience of the aluminium back. It would be certain to scratch and specially the shiny apple logo.

orange now giving ukmail tracking numbers
I'm an upgrader, heard diddly since I bought last friday am. Just called orange, option 1, 4, 1 and got my tracking number. hooray. Nothing showing up yet but he said very likely tomorrow or monday. Considering the week i've had with Orange losing my order etc etc etc that feels a result. For those who ordered late, mine wasn't actually processed until 1pm on the 18th. 64gb black.
