When I went into the Three store (in amongst trying aggressively to persuade me to take out a contract even though I wanted and eventually got it on PAYG) the assistant suggested all of the Apple stores had stock but 'are drip feeding stock to keep a buzz about the product'. Makes sense to an extent but perhaps not from a profit point of view.

Although if they limit what they sell enough so they can still say they outsold the previous iPhone but can also then say it the following year with the new model because they can sell accordingly knowing the demand will be there.

On an additional note - Three have now unlocked my phone less than 24 hours after filling out their online form.

What was the payg cost? Also, what was the unlocking charge?

If it's based on making a flight, maybe we might see some movement today starting from around the same time of day as the ones that changed yesterday.

Yes its not clear whether the phones are being prepared for dispatch here in the UK or in China. I am convinced that it is shipment/batch based though, with 16/32GB Grey being in more plentiful supply (or in a better supply/demand balance) and would have assumed that the UK received a large batch in the last day or so, of which some are being sent to stores & carriers and some allocated to online orders.

The phones filtering through to stores over the last week were probably from the initial shipment, Apple UK knew that there wouldn't be another shipment until yesterday and decided that the first shipment should all go to stores and carriers.

Hopefully actual dispatch will occur tomorrow or Monday.

The fees on a £700 sale are around £80. So they need to turn a higher profit than they are.

eBay is at the stage where its so flooded with the 5S now that profits aren't going to be substantial, however aside from the point made about some being business sellers, the other thing to remember is not all these scalpers are buying to put them on eBay.

Many of these people are involved in independent electronics goods shops. I bet if you take a stroll down Tottenham Court Road you will find plenty of shops with them on the shelves, along with many other shops in London and the big cities and towns.

I even saw one newspaper article last week where they interviewed one such scalper. He said he owned a shop and having iPhone 5s on sale not only mean't profit, but it also mean't it should get more people through his door.

With the really organised scalpers, the ones with coach loads of people and loading them into vans, who knows what they are doing. They could be selling them abroad where there are bound to be buyers in countries who don't have the new phones.

Best give a model colour/type and order time to prevent paranoia!

Thanks for that - mine is the same. No information really yet it just says on UPS a shipping label was created today (28th), number of items I've ordered (2), and the destination (my home city).

Exciting times lol..

I ordered 2 x 16gb Golds

Quite a lot of space grey 32 and 64gb at Westfield White City.

I suspect that sending them abroad to countries with high demand and further down the release schedule is more profitable.

What delivery date is it showing?

Does your online order show as Dispatched on Apple.com?

Mine is still preparing, and searching on UPS.com by reference does not show anything:confused:

Don't know about stock levels here mate but if you want to risk it and shoot over at least I'll have somebody to talk to ha

got a 64gb space grey, they had 15, all scalpers got them but one of them managed to end uo with 4 cards, he only wanted 1 64gb and 2 32gb so i agreed to buy one on his behalf and he gave me a card to get one for myself, in many ways i feel like i beat the scalpers :)

Does it say where it is now? Just wondering if this year we can track all the way from China or if they are in the UK when they become track able.

Mine is now showing on UPS.com when I search by reference - perhaps it was just added!

No delivery date yet, it says:

A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated.

Go to track by reference and stick in your apple order number. Mines showing a label has been created, with my hometown as the destination :)

(space grey 32GB ordered at 00:02)

edit: just realised you've sorted it out anyway now anyway haha

Its shocking really... I wouldnt expect this from a big company like apple.

I also ordered mine at 00:05 Gold 32gb and its still processing...

Apple should have advertised it as PREORDERS rather than orders... They have also prioritized carriers to get the phone first rather than their own direct customers... not right at all...

Dont get me wrong I love apple products but this launch is a FAIL!

Come on folks - we all knew when we ordered that dispatch was 7 to 10 business days. 10 business days is next Thursday at the earliest. If we don't like it we can all get an S4 today.

Sill no movement on my 64gb silver :( was hoping to wake up this morning to a different status to look at!

I think I've only seen one person post that their 64gb silver has changed, so I guess I'm not the only one stuck looking at the same boring status!

In the queue at white city! Only 32 and 64 space grey left... Time to cancel my 16gb space grey online order which is still in processing.

Apple rep has about 100 cards left by the looks of it

32GB Grey ordered at 00:00 still showing as Preparing for Dispatch but the Apple Order number brings up the tracking details in UPS. So looks like they'll be shipping today.
