Three are nothing to do with EE, they just use the same band. (And Orange aren't doing 4G - you gotta go with EE for that). As they're nothing to do with EE, surely they should get shown on the Apple site as being compatible?

O2 according to this: O2 Community, they have secured Band 20, 800MHz. Apple's site shows A1457 has Band 20 compatibility... but next to it shows 800DD. Does anyone know what the DD stands for?

Well... O2 have confirmed it will work. So like Three, why aren't Apple showing O2 on the LTE page.

DD is Digital-Dividend I believe. Which is the spectrum released during the digital television transition

I contacted Apple about online launch times on the 20th for the 5S and they said they couldn't comment as it wasn't yet arranged. They did however say it would be available in stores from 8AM.

For those that order online on the 20th & are due to receive it in Edinburgh on the Monday, I wouldn't count on it. It's a public bank holiday then.

But if the courier depot is outside Edinburgh, then you still have a bit of luck I guess.

I'm actually considering not getting a new iPhone this year, which is a first!

I'm a bit shocked at the sticker price. The 5S is quite expensive, I assume a lot of carriers will subsidise the extra cost to be competitive versus their Android phone offerings.

But why would anybody buy a 5C? A second hand 5 would be much better value and can be gotten with Applecare if bought now.

I think you can blame the internet for thinking it might be cheap!

But it is cheap...

Cheap to make

Nobody said it'd be priced cheap :apple:

Creaky plastic phone for that price... all I can say is - NO WAY!

To be fair, I think the 5C spec has come out a lot better than most anticipated. A large amount of rumours suggested it would be comparable to the 4S so for it to be better than 5, in a new case, for that price isn't too bad.

Does anyone know what model the unlocked 5S will be?

It's either going to be the A1533 A1457 or A1530.. anyone know how to confirm?

Thanks!

Damn, the 5s has gone up in price compared to the 5. :(

Was hoping for £600 still on the 32 GB - it's not a big difference, but that's a case I could've bought with the extra cash.

Isn't the A1530 more capable than the A1457? Buy a 1530 in Hong Kong to get a better, cheaper phone?

Good to read the 5C will work on O2's 4G LTE network.

I'll be going blue (32Gb) and the wife red (32GB) iPhone 5C. Price is not too bad imo though we shall be going down the contract route this time so will be subsidised slightly.

Looking at it, I can't see any issues in doing so. All the standard GSM/UMTS bands are the same. It supports all the LTE bands that we need too, in the correct flavour (FDD). Time will tell I guess...

I'm a bit disappointed that my network three wont run at 800mhz but at least this is very rare as three will be mainly running on 1800mhz

Three do have some 800Mhz spectrum but they are not likely to implement it until later in their rollout. I think they are the most keen to roll out Voice over LTE as well.

I was hoping on the storage options being 32, 64 and 128 -- with the 16 being phased out.

Seems crazy that it's possible to buy a smartphone in 2013 with only 16GB of storage and yet still cost >£500.

I was hoping that too :(

Can't believe how much the prices have gone up since the 4S though. £499 vs £549 for 16 GB models of 4S and 5S. Bit disappointing.

Was considering coming back to iOS (at least my wife was) until these were announced. Not interested now at these prices.

A used Alu 5 is far better value than the play school plastic toy that replaced it.

Imagine how much they would charge if they left 2009's screen size behind.
